For an average Nigerian, whenever he hears 'Nigeria', the federal government and all political gladiators come to mind.

This is a dangerous misconception that has greatly contributed to Nigeria's developmental retardation.
The Nigerian people, are known to counter every wall, they meet, any time they're pushed. They never retaliate, they always find a way to just survive.

Though perceived as a STRENGTH, this habit which is clearly a representation of nonchalance has in a great way, hindered the growth of the nation.

Political and public office holders have been given free grounds to exacerbate excesses without restrain or the slightest challenge, and even after much complaints of bitterness by the masses, they still get elected or re-elected into offices by the same masses.

The masses on their own part, particularly the government workers, do not take work seriously. They show up at their respective duty posts at their convenience, and at the end of a working day, may have achieved nothing. Government and public properties are mal handled and allowed to rot.

Corrupt practices have also become the order of the day amongst the masses.
Cautioning any of such masses, leads to a detailed episode of how corrupt the government is.

It is true PMB says 'change begins with you', which unarguably, is a reincarnation of the War against Indiscipline staged in the 1980s by his then military government, co-piloted with the late Gen. Tunde Idiagbon.

It is also perceived that, having encountered challenges and being unable to deliver the positive change he promised, PMB in a bid to divert pressure and blame, systematically 'pushed' the work that was suppose to deliver the 'change' to the Nigerian masses.

But, the truth of the matter is, Nigeria belongs to us all. There has never been and never will be a time when She will belong to Buhari, or Tinubu or Amaechi or Rochas and their likes.
The faster we understand this, the better for us all.

As politician, public office holder or servant, entrepreneur, student, market woman, business man....Whatever!.. Just whatever you are! You have a role to play in moving Nigeria to greater Heights by the littlest act of patriotism you exhibit.

Arise O' Compatriots!...Nigeria is ours and Nigeria we must serve.

Happy independence to us and may God bless Nigeria!
