LESSON 5: THE PURSUIT OF GOD : - OCTOBER 2ND, 2016
OPENING PRAYERS:
i. My father, help me to diligently seek and find you, in the name of Jesus.
ii. My father, please, let me never stop from seeking you always, in the name of Jesus.
BIBLE PASSAGE: 2CHRONICLES 15:2-4
2: And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
3: Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
4: But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.
MEMORY VERSE: Isaiah:55:6: Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
LESSON INTRODUCTION:
To ‘Seek’ means to look for, search for, inquire about, investigate, pursue and strive after [Matthew13:44-46]. In Genesis4:26; the Bible records that men began to seek God…..’ then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. The call to seek the Lord is an urgent one. It is our prayer that in our pursuit of God, we shall find Him and also be found of Him, in the name of Jesus.

WHY MUST BELIEVERS SEEK GOD WITH ALL THEIR HEARTS?
i. God is near to those who seek Him. Isaiah50:2; 55:6;59:1
ii. It is a divine commandment which must be obeyed.-2Chron14:4
iii. Those who seek God will find Him- Jer29:11-14; 1Chron28:9
iv. He will hear the prayers of those who seek him- 2Chron7:14
v. He will give us rest- Matthew28:11; 2Chron14:7; 2Chron14:10-15
vi. He will bless those who seek Him- Matthew6:33; Ps34:9-10
vii. He will empower us unto righteousness- Hosea10:12
viii. Seeking God guarantees us of everlasting life- Titus1:2; John5:39
Why do people often become tired of seeking after the Lord?

QUESTION: Why do some people not seek God at all?
SUMMARY
i. Seek God and you will find Him
ii. Seek God with all your life always and He will bless you
CONCLUSION-
Every true child of God must see to the pursuit of his Father as an inevitable and highly rewarding task.

Father, as I seek you with all my strength, bless me with all your blessings, in the name of Jesus.

Praise the Lord, let me start by saying that am blessed by this daily manner, even though I didn't go to church today but the teaching is a blessing, I have always want to seek God in all I do, but at some point I get backslided which my conscience later hunt me, so right now I want you to pls pray for me not to backslide...thank you so much for this wonderful piece....
