It's a pity to see that supposed youth cannot tell between a pigeon and a dove. While they belong to the same family, a dove has a smaller body and a longer or bigger tails than pigeons.

Both are considered gentle but pigeons in particular bonds with man in a strange way, such that it could be comfortable with you and not choose to fly no matter how hard you try to.

It takes a very keen eye to know them, while some cannot tell which is which. And by the way, they're domestic birds and not wild birds, which implies that they won't 'escape' at the slightest opportunity. They can be that 'dumb'.
