The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has warned that unemployment and lack of decent-paying jobs in Nigeria are huge incubators of insecurity in the country, urging employers of labour and labour unions to pay greater attention to the formalisation of workers in the informal sector. https://www.sunnewsonline.com/lack-of-decent-paying-jobs-huge-incubators-of-insecurity-in-nigeria-minister/ 2 Likes

What a terrible minister of Labour. Employers are underpaying their employees, instead of you to do something about it, you're also complaining from the comfort of your office. 11 Likes 1 Share |

And how much is the useless government that Ngige is subserving paying those citizens with decent jobs especially the doctors that have been on strike for more than a month now? Compare this with what Buhari is paying his London doctors. 5 Likes |

You and your gang killed and keeps killing the Naira since the British left. If the Naira had value, even N10,000 will be too much as salaries for an average nigerian. How many Americans earn $10,000 a month? How many Britons earn 5000 pounds a month? But many Nigerians earn Over N30,000 as minimum wage but still can't live a decent life simply because the naira is useless. Go to the market with even N100,000 and u will realise that despite the quantity, the N100,000 is nothing. 13 Likes 1 Share |

Labour and productivity indeed. Nigeria labour law is biased towards employers and they take advantage of it. Meanwhile security issues, power problems, nepotism, high loan interests and dollar wahala have had a knock on effect on job creation. The amount of brain drain going on in Nigeria is alarming. Govt should focus on stabilising the country at least. |

The lack of decent paying jobs is caused by past administration of PDP. Blame...that is what you guys without visions are known for. You rushed and grabbed power after telling all manner of lies just to deceive Nigerians, now the problems you claim you will solve within months have surged without remedy. When you a minister begin to complain is it not a sign that you and your cohorts have failed woefully. 50Trillion debt and loading.... Hediots! |

Spherical77:. My brother, we seem to be facing the same challenge. This country has reduced graduates to nothing. You have idea to create job but no money to finance it, you go in search of a job and you don't see. You manage to get one, they turn you to modern slave while paying you peanut. |

I cannot believe that companies still pay graduates less than 100k in today's Nigeria. BTW, what can a minimum wage of 30k do for a man? |

Isn't he the Minister of Labor? Why state the obvious when you haven't improved employment conditions since put in the position to do so? These guys talk sometimes to make it seem they are competent and have achieved some special discovery. |
