The traffic on that road is outrageous mehn...but the landlords should be duly compensated

you are right. I believe that road is the busiest in Nigeria. every morning, millions of people pour from Ogun state and the mainland through that road into the island. by evening, they pour back.

this expansion is very critical. and must be done the right way. but compensation should be given to property owners who are affected.

Disadvantage of building on states and federal roads without much space in front. One politician will wake up one day claiming it is in the master plan.
That road needs
1. Special road maintenance team
2. Bus stops for commercial, defaulting vehicles should be confiscated.
3. Emergency response team
4. Partnership between Ogun and Lagos on interstate traffic

Their buildings aren't illegal, govt. wanna demolish to give way to road expansion.
Okay then they should be compensated adequately.

Y'all just saying all sorts like "why did they too build on the road"?
My office has been marked, and we've moved. You need to see the mass exodus of people. 3 banks were affected ( Gtb, zenith, and Wema banks), 3 petrol stations, slot, 3chub, tantalizer, sweet sensation, and a host of other investments.
Like the news rightly pointed out, the original markings had been done, they already demolished part of our buildings... nobody complained. Suddenly, they came with another measurement that wasn't in th original plan and claim it's a right of way thing.
These buildings are in no way blocking the right of way.

Buhari why are u so desperate for second tenure, buhari why are u just trying to bring more suffering to afonjas that voted massively for you I hope there will be reasonable compensation

On the contrary, Buhari doesn't look desperate for second term. It is those that distribute free money that are desperate...

Only in Nigeria you will see people building under electric power lines, on underground pipelines and even Right of Way but when government asked them to vacate those places, they scream about insensitivity of the government.

These people should be begging for compensation and not become a clog in the wheel of development.
So... You read my mind?
This is my thoughts... Seriously!!!
