Onitsha industrialist abducted in Asaba
From Hendrix Oliomogbe, Asaba

UNDETERRED by the recent Act of Delta State House of Assembly that prescribed death for kidnappers in the state, kidnappers reportedly abducted a Director of GBC, manufacturers of household products in neighbouring Onitsha, Anambra State, Mr. Murphy Madubuike, in the early hours of yesterday in Asaba, Delta State.

Madubuike was reportedly abducted by some goons who blocked his car opposite the MTN Office along Asaba-Benin Expressway as he was about stepping into his office. According to an eye witness, who pleaded anonymity, the hoodlums forced the top company executive into a waiting red Mitsubishi mini bus and sped towards Onitsha.

Nevertheless, the police in Asaba were said to be intensifying investigations into the matter.

In another development, 11 suspects, including five females, have been arrested in connection with the kidnap of one Mrs. Joy Agofure and her driver at Agbarho, near Warri, on October 10. A police source disclosed that the kidnappers were demanding a N500 million ransom before they let go of her.

The suspects include Solomon Asine, 40, Esor Abomaria, 40, Ikpose Adase, 50, Diamond Ibori, 49, Lucky Igbonuku, 53, and Andy Reuben, 24. Others are Christiana Ovie, 48, Endurance Diamond, 22, Edna Ovie, Helen Ibubure, 26, and Julie Ovie, 20.

According to the source, the kidnapped woman's Camry car with registration number AL 740 EFR was blocked by the suspects as she sped to her house on Akpovie Street, Agbarho. The abductors were said to have sandwiched the woman and her driver, Sunday Onuoro, before driving her to an unknown destination.

However, the criminals were apprehended by the police yesterday at their hideout in Okpara Inland, near Eku. Delta State Police Command Spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, who confirmed the story, disclosed that the 12 suspects would soon appear in court while effort was in top gear to apprehend Madubuike's kidnappers and free him

Since Nigeria is rooted in tribalism, kidnappers should only do so to people of their tribe. So far only Yoruba and Delta kidnappers have done so to peoples of other tribes. The Igbo ones have managed to restrict their job to their own people only.

Why not start a campaign and recruit kidnappers from your village to kidnap people of other tribes since you need to protest the situation?. Instead of looking for a lasting solution to kidnapping, you are busy counting the tribes and how they kidnap others. where is Sjeezy8 when I need him most?.
