Please if you are one of the Nigerians who wants this country to be sanitised of corruption please post the hashtags to let the wailing wailers know that Nigeria is no longer what they used to think it was...a new Sheriff is in town!
If he is really fighting corruption, what happened to those around him? And he himself should still be probed for past and present corruptions, then he will be taken serious.

[b]1. I have never seen any where in the constitution where there is a stipulated time for arrest. As a matter of fact, u can be arrested anytime, any where and any day. Arresting by 1am, 4am, 12pm or on to of your olosho is inconsequential.

2. I have never seen any where in the constitution, where a serving Judge or a lawyer can not be arrested. This is more like saying they have immunity.

3. As a matter of fact, one can be arrested with or without a warrant, on suspicion on a criminal offence against the federal or state laws. E.g Bribery and Corruption.

4. The SSS takes their time to actually screen these clowns before confirmation of their appointments. This simply means their actions and inactions can be a threat to national security. If SSS screens them, why can't they be arrested by the same SSS?

In view of the above, the propaganda of tyranny and subversion of the rule of law, being propagated against this government by the wailing dundees, is a deliberate attempt to gag the present government from performing her constitutional duties. It is also a way of meeting up with their ever unendind wailing demand since the disgrace of an incumbent president loosing to the opposition

Dundee, U don't even make one single sense. This is a case about corrupt judges and not a case about all judges, so definitely all judges cant be arrested.

Bribery is a criminal offence, hence can be investigated by any security agency, weather u are a lawyer, a judge, a military officer,or whatever.

Anyone who reads this will know how ignorant you are.

You ain't aware of the fact that the crime of corruption is under the enforcement auspices of the ICPC or the EFCC?

Or that the DSS or the SSS is charged with offences affecting internal security and like crimes?

I won't be surprised if you think that the police can wake up one morning to effect an arrest on another by breaking into his apartment even when such a person is not in absentia or that an arrest entails forcefully dragging a person into a person into police custody.

Boy, Due Process is more than that. Due process is following the law, not just the constitution but such other laws blessed by it with enforceable authority.

Besides, you don't just arrest with or without a warrant {which funny enough is given by a judge}, you also must have the authority to arrest. Again, the SSS does not screen judges and justices, it is done by the NJC and such body reserves the displinary powers over such officers.

Reread your constitution and Acts, before coming to make nasty comments.

So the best the NJC could do was to retire the 3 judges accused of corrupt charges which they obviously have proved themselves, and you wonder why Nigeria is fantastically corrupt?

We all want a free and fair Nigeria, but unfortunately Nigeria is only free if you've got money and connection. Until the NBA does something to protect the rights of the common Nigerian they can scream all they want, now they understand what the average Nigerian suffers in the hands of our security officers.

Back to the issue, if the NJC disciplinary process is not effective as we have seen, they should admit and ask for time develop a better frame work for punishing culprits.

Corruption in the judiciary is akin to mutiny in the military, but the consequences are what makes the difference. Actions should have consequences, and serious actions should have even more serious consequences.

When the FBI arrested corrupt judges in the US, one was facing almost 35 years in prison because of a bribe of $100, if it's the NJC they will tell him to refund the money and go and sin no more. Nonsense

Nobody prays for jungle justice, and so far you haven't shown us the part of the Constitution that bars any other govt agency from investigating, arresting and prosecuting corrupt judges. Please refer me to the section for my enlightenment. I would hate to argue in ignorance.

Moving forward, if there are constitutional powers conferred on the DSS and or Executive to investigate and prosecute corrupt judges, then it seems to me that it's the NJC that needs to get their act right and do their damn jobs, otherwise Nigerians will do it for them.

We must be fair to all parties involved does not imply that corruption should be treated with kid gloves.

When the NJC retired the two justices and handed the other for prosecution, did they ask them to go and sin no more?

Please be sure of your facts!

The NJC did not break into the houses of those judges, they instead invited them upon investigations being carried out and questioned them before a disciplinary tribunal set up for that purpose.

That's Due Process, and so you know depicts an efficient NJC.
