VACANCY: Project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at David Bassey Ikpeme (DBI)Foundation. October 2016.
LOCATION: Calabar
David Bassey Ikpeme (DBI) Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization with a mission to provide social and health care services for children, households and their communities in the Niger Delta Region.
DBI is currently implementing the Systems Transformed for Empowered Action and Enabling Responses for Vulnerable Children and Families (STEER) is a USAID/PEPFAR-supported project, that seeks to improve the well-being of orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC) in Calabar, Cross River State Nigeria.
DBI seeks to employ the services of a Monitoring and Evaluation Project Officer in Calabar.
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer:
Level of Effort (LOE): 100%
Qualification and Experience required:
A minimum of a university degree or a HND in statistics, mathematics, engineering or physics or pure sciences.
Minimum of two years’ experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
High level of proficiency in computer packages and statistical software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Epi-info and SPSS
Experience in NOMIS entry and Data analysis
Research and evaluation skills
Strong computer skills (should know how to use MS Excel to make graphs)
Very strong report writing skills
Ability to analyze data
Fluency in both written and oral English.
Ability to speak the local language is desirable.
The M&E Officer will:
Collect and collate reports from the field sites
Conduct a baseline survey using Child Status Index (CSI)
Develop the Project M & E plan
Coordinates with the service providers regarding reports and M&E activities
Develop and maintain system to collect and analyze information on inputs, outputs, outcomes, program impact
Write monthly, quarterly, Semi Annual and Annual reports, conducts support supervisory visit to Community improvement teams and coaches and service providers to observe and monitor, provide guidance and quality feedback on the use of data and indicators.
Conduct Data Quality Assurance and quality assurance spot checks on each project sites
Gather success stories and case studies
Participate in quarterly referral meetings
Collate data from community improvement team
Support the STEER Project M&E activities in target communities
Support in conducting regular monitoring visits to communities
Input data into the National OVC Management Information System (NOMIS).
