Seun:

I'm not afraid of feathers, bones, cotton bands of any color, or palm fronds. I don't see why stringing them together would make them more scary. I would use a stick to push it aside, and walk into the house, smiling and shaking my head about how stupid the person who placed the silly contraption on my doorstep must think I am. Later, I would pour some fuel over it nonchalantly and burn it. I'd avoid inhaling the fumes.
Perfect! cheesy

It's easy to brag and swat it off like a hovering fly. Now let's test that resolve of yours. smiley

Are you willing to test your disbelief in the efficacy of charms?

You reside in Sango-Otta, so how about in eerie, fetish localities like Oju-Ore, Lafenwa and Adalemo? Lanfenwa especially.

There are nearly always ritualistic sacrifices in these places and on streets too. How about picking them up and throwing them away? Are you up for it? cool

Dude, are you dyslexic or you just have the urge to partake in an ongoing discussion when exceeds your level comprehension?

I asked Seun if he'd pickup a charm and he admitted he would. Now I'm challenging him to test his resolve which is only right and in line with the sequence of arguments.
Pray tell, Einstein, how then does it equate shifting the goal posts?

Sit back, dude. Read and learn. Only contribute when it's meaningful.

calm down, no one is chasing you

isn't it funny how this moved from "feathers at your door" to ........ this?

"just as expected" because I've been through discussions such as these and they all lead to this

next would be for Seun to go and desecrate a shrine.......

but hey, I lack such comprehension

with all pleasure my good sir,

you said there's an "original" charm that would make the target leave house even till 2023 if you place it on his/her doorstep

I am simply asking you if you've placed such at someone's doorstep before, did they leave house? how long did they stay in "exile"?

if you still don't understand, kindly say so and I'll gladly break it down further

sorry sir,I don't place charms for people

Now you're wrong, again. Your presuppository assertions have exposed you yet again.

You're hoping I'd ask Seun to desecrate a shrine so you (atheists) can hide behind the excuse of violating/desecrating/vandalizing private/public property being criminal.

No, I won't give you that escape route.

He'd be ALLOWED to do what he pleases with the charm or fetish sacrifices to prove they are ineffective - he'd be allowed to desecrate it.

Seun, the challenge is still open. In Lafenwa, Adalenmo or Oju-Ore.

When fortified by rededicating myself to God, I do not fear charms.

Being spiritually mature arms you with the weaponry to counter the potency of such charms. It's a spiritual warfare.

You, on the other hand, lack it. It's like trying to put out a fire with a canister propane gas - it'd consume you.

You or Hahn admitted to residing in Sango-Otta. I mentioned you both in the challenge thrown to Seun on this thread. Let's prove your nonchalance or disbelief in the efficacy of charms right in your locality.

Something like what? According to Sèun and other atheists, charms are ineffective so it's safe to assume nothing strange would happen. cheesy He doesn't have to worry about a physical or legal retaliation for desecrating the aforementioned.

As a kid, I went visiting my grandparents. I was playing in his room and somehow managed to remove his "gbekude" from where it was hanging out on the wall. I still have the scars of whip on my back.

Curiously though, he did not die until around twelve years later.

Tai Solarin used to jog back in the day with senior mayflower students and they went around picking up coins that were offered to the gods. Most of those guys are successful in their various fields.

I just wish these people put bundles of money on their "sacrifices" angry

Superstition is the name

Even soldiers are known to get more superstitious as war heats up

You see them holding on to a "backstreet boys" audio CD, video game discs, always wanting to be a particular number on roll call, wanting to eat at a certain hour of the day; they believe these things help them prevent death on the battlefield

If you're bent on this, you should rather bring the charms to Seun's door step and see if he'd burn and discard them as he stated, rather than ask him to go look for charms to discard. That doesn't sound sensible.

[b] Nope. Bringing charms to Seun's home is trespassing and it's no news that he's a private person. I've mentioned places around him which are littered with charms and sacrifices at any given time.

The advantages: They are public places, hence physically safe. Also his privacy wouldn't be infringed upon.

Then again, I'm a Christian which rules out the chances of me handling charms except it's impeding my free movement. My faith and belief is the counter-active power of prayers against charms would be brought to bear.

Stop beating around the bush.

Two folks on this thread claim to live in Sango-Otta. Let's test your claims or you'd forever be ostriches.

Like seriously? venomous and infectious? a band of feathers and palm fronds can be venomous and infectious? Wow!.

The fact that you allude it can be what you mentioned show the potency of the charm, because some charms are venomous and do physical harm.

Not all charm do spiritual harm.

Venom of what, rat? come on. such excuses are lame, hope you know that.

beside, be them spiked with venom or not, you should show you're not afraid by touching it with your hands since you believe it harmless.

Google "venomous organisms" you'd be surprised.

There's wisdom in seeing a potential hazard & taking precaution. I'd be aware of the physical implications of touching a fetish substance. Even lab scientists use gloves while collecting blood samples for HIV test and other tests because it could contain pathogens.
