Late Comr. Franklin Obi, his wife Mrs. Uloma Obi and their son, Bestman Obi were gruesomely murdered and beheaded on 5th March 2016, two days after he allegedly moderated a large and successful Omoku zonal meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC) before the re-run electiontion.

At about 8:30pm suspected members of the opposition stormed his house and killed three of them…Mrs. Obi was pregnant, leaving behind six children. The trio were laid to rest yesterday.
