- Know the needs of your family in relation to the kind of staff needed
- Make a list of qualities & skills you would prefer in the staff working in your home and ensure you do not derail from it
- Have a reasonable expectation of the staff
- Interview the candidate against your list of qualities & skills
- Check the candidate's medical condition from an accredited Medical Laboratory or hospital
- Always conduct background check on the candidate before s/he resumes work with you
- Always keep in mind that your domestic staff is your employee and not your servant
