You pulled it off bro..nice one...well picked parts. Did you do a video build too...link me up with it. what games are you getting? Add me on Steam & Origin when you setup BlivAK

did not do a video build, lol
it's my first build and so many inconsistencies
the corsair sf450 psu cables where too short because the pc case is a bit bigger than the conventional "mini itx" cases.
i had to order a normal psu ( corsair 650 ) which has longer cables.
pc is packed up and i await delivery. smiley

sad no video, issorai.

Sorry to hear about the psu. the build looks badass still in that case, should go for some custom braided cables if budget allows.

What do you mean awaiting delivery?

I wanted to opt for custom psu modular cables, red and black but the price was 60 USD which I chose to buy a new 650w psu.

I've bought it from Amazon, just waiting for a nairaland mail forward to send the item down to Nigeria next week

From what I can see, the GPU hasn't got any external power supply. So first thing is check the specs of your power supply. See if you can get the specs of it. It's usually written on the side.

Your motherboard should not have any problems with installing a more powerful GPU, it has a PCIe slot for one already. Your i7 CPU will have no issues with handling the latest games.

Two options to install a more powerful GPU
1. Check if your PSU has an extra molex connector and you can buy a molex to 6/8pin PCIe connector ( depends on the details your can provide about your PSU)
2. Buy a new PSU with a PCIe connector.

Check out this post for some help with explaining PSU connector - https://www.nairaland.com/3278982/power-supply-connectors-gaming-pc

Cool. Bear in mind the gtx 1070 has a power envelope of 150W and the gtx 1080 is 180W add upto 50% more if you plan to over clock so 750W PSU is overkill. A 550W PSU will be cheaper and adequate.

Good one yemkoguru
The CPU and ram are ok all u need is to get ur self a new GPU for 1080p gaming and PSU with a molex connector to power the GPU u can always get a 500watts. With the GPU I will recommend RX 470 cos its latest and cheap with good TDP and can handle games well in 1080p.
I remember Chidi3pus stated he was selling his PSU, contact him and find out

Ignoring the $21 price difference to RX 470 4G, the GTx 1060 3G score a much more respectable frames compared to 470 @$179. I think GTX 1060 worth it @$200

The GTX1060's competition is the RX480 however the GTX 1060's 3GB variant will hit the limit of it's VRAM to max 1080p but the RX470 comes with 4GB VRAM a much better buffer.

If you've played games on 1080p/ultra settings/60fps you'll never want to go down the console ground.

For alienwares, it costs almost twice to get a pc of my specs and you can't always upgrade some parts like the GPU which means in a few years, your specs may be outdated.

And oh, I do have a ps4 and after hooking it up to my 120 inch, the medium looking textures are more obvious few games are 60fps.

I know pc gaming is expensive, yeah, but other things are expensive too like popping bottles in da club or buying gifts for the girlfriend.

Passion and money has to go somewhere I believe.

seriously PC gaming is a different beast however my interest in getting such rig is for Emulation so i can play all my PS2 games, PS2 emulation needs much more for a low spec system so the GTX 970 maybe be handy and i won't even recommend an AMD GPU unless they support the Vulkan API

Dude lol...i strongly disagree..besyds most amd gpus support vulkan anyways...

Any ways my gtx 970 gigabyte mini oc finally croaked...third nvidia gpu to die on me. Havent had a single amd gpu die on me yet. I dnt think i will go to nvidia for my gpu needs for a loooong tym

Anyways OP nice build..too pricey for the common man. You have done well though.

But this is my problem...i feel we must help the layman get an interest in pc gaming for as little as possible. This will help greatly involve dem. Take nothing from ur achievement...you should be proud...

Nvidia is the way to go if you want gaming experience, having dealt with AMD except in Vulkan , their performance has always been terrible for me compared to Nvidia. Are you over-clocking your Gpu ?
Re: Buliding My First Pc Gaming Rig GTX1070 i7 6700k by Nobody: 2:40pm On Jun 07, 2019
lol just realized you posted to a 2016 post, well AMD is good but mehn Nvidia still has the performance advantage in most benchmark unless Vulkan. Not alot of people have written their games in Vulkan except DOOM, but that might happen soon though

I disagree sir...i prefer amd gpus, the only reason i bought a gtx 970 after selling my r9 290 is cos i bought a reference one which was loud, hot and power hungry. My psu was struggling...wanted to buy an aftermarket one but for the power requirement. So i got a direct competitor with better power req.

I never overclock my gpus cos i dnt have good cooling in my chasis plus my psu. They usually come overclocked or not, the gtx 970 did come overclocked

Mention one gpu dat is operating very poorly to its direct competitor. I will wait.

Yeah i necroed de thread...its seemed interesting. Plus it was on the first page.

For the price asked and performance advantage u speak of, i dnt think its worth it. Also i need my gpus to last me a long tym...no amd gpu has died on me yet, have had 3 nvidia do that meanwhile dey have ran cooler.
Also for some reason amd gpus do well after sometym...i dnt mind my gpus getting better after sometym.

In all my years of console emulation AMD has failed me in performance and in several places. NVidia has dedicated developers writing drivers for its Gpu and sdk(s) for developers to create games with so that optimizations can happen you gpu cards, you're free to think what you want, but this is just fact when it comes to performance Nvidia will always have it locked down. Vulkan is the most place where AMD has a good performance and some GPU like the Rx 480 have managed to get a good performance , but Nvidia esp its same competitor will blow it our of the waters easily. I have been using Nvidia since MX440 on desktops and ATI Rage till Radeon till AMD took over ATI, and Nvidia has always been the consistent winner hands down. OpenGL performance Nvidia is your default, DirectX Nvidia and AMD perform but Nvidia still comes out on top, Vulkan now that's where the tie is.
Re: Buliding My First Pc Gaming Rig GTX1070 i7 6700k by Nobody: 1:03pm On Jun 08, 2019
Check the reddit emulation thread and you will see hands down how emulator developers complain how terrible AMD OpenGL drivers are. Even for my linux I had to depend on open source AMD drivers , where as Nvidia is always on point.
