orimsamsam:Yes now, for almost a century as the capital of Nigeria with niger delta oil wealth for her foundation. No other state will try that. Thats why lagos state is 10 times richer than all 5 SW states of osun, ogun, oyo, ondo, ekiti combined together. 90% of the wealth of lagos state is in the hand of non lagosians. Out of the 10% of the wealth that is in the hand of lagosians, 9% are in the hand of tinubu. There is a likehood that Dangote may control upto 40% of entire wealth of eko in two decades to come making him the emperor of not only lagos but ogun state where he lay claim as his economic empire. Lagos is truly a great state. 1 Like |

Clinton9000:Bros, take it cool. It's simple arithmetic. All those sectors you mentioned belong to the federal government. All the revenues generated go into the purse of the federal govt, not state's. All their workers are federal government staff, who are on the federal govt's payroll. What Lagos generates as revenues go into the state's purse. Don't confuse yourself. Lagos has nothing to share from what the fed govt generates from the sea or airports. If those sectors actually belonged to Lagos State, fashola would have fixed the apapa-wharf road abandoned by the jonathan administration for political reasons, despite the huge revenues coming from the sea port during his tenure on a monthly basis 10 Likes 1 Share |

Pavore9: Thank you for acknowledging that this injustice exists. Had Jonathan tried to change it, he would have been murdered. You people don't realize the forces holding and marginalizing SE and SS...powerful forces, more powerful than GEJ. They know that economic independence of SE and SS will bring about end of Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |

Nice! Laudable! Akin to the feat achieved by the city of Carlifornia as the fifth largest economy in the world.Well, I see it as a gauntlet thrown at her feet to address the huge infrastructural gap all too evident across the state. Lagos should be expanding and modernizing its railway network in the short and midterm. And, should seriously be planning for a subway system in the long-term, say, 15, 20 years. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Clinton9000: If you want liberation you must fight for it, it is not handed over on a platter of Gold. GEJ, Anyim, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Deziani were in prime positions to reverse the situation but rather choose not to as long as their personal wallets were bulging. You expecting it to easily reverse in this administration is like expecting a plate piled up with jollof rice garnished with chicken from your step-mother when you couldn't get any when your mother was in charge of food sharing! 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Pavore9: I'm trying to have a conversation with you since you appear sensible in acknowledging that this injustice exist, which I applaud and respect you for. What I'm saying is what you are not understanding is that GEJ, Okonja Iweala cannot help change this injustice because the forces responsible for the systematic marginalization of SE and SS are far more powerful than them. Makes sense now? 1 Like |

Simple message for the haters .WHEN Lagos was the capital it was a mess and it was the agenda of the north that with Abuja in place Lagos should die. Thank God for Tinubu. What was the state of the Lagos economy in 1999. If Lagos had been governed by PDP since that time there would be NOTHING to celebrate. Lagos being where it is today is not destiny. The truth is that since 1999 Lagos has had the best government,One can only dream what would have been in Delta and Akwa Ibom with all the oil money they got. Where is the money gone and what do they have to show for it? In 1999 Lagos IGR was 6 billion today it is over 200 billion. That is not LUCK!! The next state in Line is Ogun State and then Ondo 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Clinton9000:@the bolded, by who? To what cause and to what end would he have been murdered The man was clearly stupid_. One of the reasons I loathe him. You sure write like a child. What do you mean by the 'economic independence of the SE would bring about the end of Nigeria One thing Biafran separatists have failed to understand is that Nigeria's system is heavily dependent and designed in a cause-and-effect pattern. A system cannot exist in isolation, at least not now. The reason for this is very simple; no region is fully developed and capable of self sufficiency contrary to what senior separatists preach. Just don't try to make excuses for GEJ. He was a President who failed woefully. He had the opportunity to gift the SS the best Presidential gift ever but allowed petty politics to get to him all because he was a spineless fellow incapable of making manly decisions. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

tobtap: From this pie chart,we can see the contribution of the parasitic north, they re not contributing much bt want to call the shots at all time, dictating who gets wat nd how much. The more reason we need to go back to either regionalism or a true federal system of government and not this quasi type that is neither unitary nor federal. Take for instance VAT paid on alcohol, the Moslems in the northern part are discouraged from consuming alcohol bt at the end of every month wen Lagos state is done generating VAT for the Federal government inclusive of alcohol and cigarettes consumed in the southern part, the North will still get paid from the it despite not consuming/purchasing these items. It's a very crazy arrangement, it's robbing Peter to pay Paul, the system is heavily rigged to favour the North and there seems to be nothing our spineless leaders from the South can do abt it, it's either they re playing politics of hate or my enemy's enemy is my friend without critically looking our for interests,a very myopic set of people. 2 Likes 1 Share |
