Why is the country, Nigeria too scared to restructure?? Why is a change in status quo so scary to the political class?? When will the governed start DEMANDING good governance from those governing??

A section of this country has maintained they want their independence, you say No; you want one Nigeria!
Now, there is the option of restructuring the political landscape so that regions or states will now look after themselves and develop at their pace; where the burden of governance will be so reduced on the Federal Govt, and regions/states now take up that job. Thus making the impact of governance better felt by the masses; where the evils of tribalism, bigotry, marginalisation, etc will no longer be and thereby, engendering peaceful coexistence.
Why is this option not so welcomed, especially at a critical period like this time of recession? Why are the so called patriotic and 'one Nigeria' fanatics so reluctant to grasp this very good idea? Why are we so scared of WAR yet very scared of charting a PEACE time development strategy?

There are certain clauses in the Nigerian Constitution that gives some regions some privileges to own wealth and power. There are also some clauses that protects politicians who looted huge sums of public funds. If restructuring takes place, they will lose those privileges. These are the cabals who are against restructuring.

Nigeria is not too scared to restructure, we Nigerians just wonder why your son, the ineffectual buffoon did not do the restructuring for the 16-years he was in the corridor of power and importantly for the 6 miserable years that he was the C-in-C. If the ineffectual buffoon could not restructure in his 6 years as president, why should the people's general restructure? It then means that you fools are very insincere, you only want to restructure because we have stopped you from looting the treasury.

Secondly, the people's general Gen Muhammadu Buhari did not promise to restructure during his campaign, so those of us that kicked out your thieving son the drunk fisherman did not vote Buhari to restructure.

Its not WE that are scared of restructuring but the ever foolish, hopeless, noise making sophisticated slaves aka Afonjas with their fulani slave masters

They would want to fight corruption but refuse the only systematic way of fighting corruption which is restructuring.

Even when the entire South was in the Verge of achieving restructuring, it was this noise makers that embraced their slave masters and drew us 10yrs back.

You cannot fight corruption with our current structure, we have tried it as a country and its not and will never work because human being by nature is corrupt, you can't keep a yam and a goat together and expect the yam to remain untouched.

Civilized countries fight corruption systematically not this archaic way of media trials while govt officials are still involved in corruption.

Stupid Afonja, your only good in making noise thereby displaying your usual high level of ignorance.
You keep insulting GEJ more than 1yr after leaving office while your standard of living keeps failing.

GEJ has done his best and moved on with his life
He has refused to involve himself in the dirty politics of this country reasons best known to him

Gej is privy to informations me and you don't know about this country that has made him decide to avoid politics for now.

I served in national assembly 2011
I knew a bit how things worked in this country
After every meeting with the president,is always common to see northern senators in their numbers braging openly that 'Jonathan should come and rule now,let us see',even in front of him,the north never supported GEJ for once because they felt he stole their mandate.

Finally had GEJ received a quarter of support your people's general had been receiving recently, we would have been happier as country but since the north decide to have their own govt within Gej's there will never be peace unless the country is restructured.

...and the blame game continues. GEJ this, GEJ that... Why has your Tinubu been confused as to what he wants for the west? Before the 2015 elections, even before the national conference, he, Tinubu, was all for restructuring, singing resource control. Then, when the National conference was being convoked, his tune changed; he labeled it 'diversionary' just because he was now very interested in politics at the national level. He wanted the V P position. When this eluded him, he suddenly remembers restructuring again. Hear him:
“Nigeria needs some fundamental restructuring both politically and economically,” Mr. Tinubu said.
This restructuring, he stressed, should not be the “constant tinkering and patch-patch” Nigerian government often resorts to.
“Agriculture remains a key pillar in our development. We must return to the days when Nigeria had surplus and exported food.
See link: www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/199192-buhari-restructure-nigeria-tinubu.html

Buhari took over power and sent the National conference report to the Archives and you people shouted haleluya. Today, Afenifere and some politcal big shots in the north like Atiku, are echoing restructuring. So who is fooling who?

See this topic: Afenifere blasts Tambuwal for rejecting restructuring call. September 16, 2016

Restructuring means the following :
Every region to answer it's fathers name
Collapse of 774 LGA where the North alone is sitting on 69.4% leaving the whole south with 30.6%. Revenue sharing among present states are skewed in dis direction.
State police. This would permanently kill Fulani cattle Wahala!!
It's a rehearsal for splitting up in the next ten yrs
Resources control
No more Quotas, Federal character bla bla bla
Severe poverty and starvation in the North....cos they won't have money to fund their govt.
More Northerns would migrate to South for survival

Tell ur senators to put in in the constitutional amendment and stop all this noise

The way to achieve this is well stated in the constitution.. . Why has any senator preached that in the national assembly

which other explanation do you need when their first son OSIBADE said restructuring is not in their agenda for now rather their selective fight against corruption.

Even on this forum, you hardly hear Afonjas supporting the call for restructuring especially those infected with Zombiesm

The North is dead scared of restructuring Nigeria in line with true federal state because they have been so lazy about developing agriculture but focussed all their attention on finding all sorts of ways ti cheat the south of her resources.

That is also exactly the root of all the pproblem in Nigeria . The northerners reaping where thet did not sow and refusing to develop their own resources
