A good vault should take between 6 to 12 hours before yielding...obviously the branch refused to upgrade from what they met since inception. A lesson for other branches/banks using mere cash centers as branch.

Even withe dynamite, you need to drill a considerable hole to enhance impact on target. That vault is/was weak. Any vault constructed in the last 15years should take you hours before yielding. Cheap concrete work + inexperienced hands must have landed the branch there; except that branch started out as a cash center.
Note: vault construction is a special construction...every detail & specification must be attended to!

I still can't imagine why a branch with weak vault will keep up to 25million...management should have an answer to that, all managers "always" knows the status of their vault! For God's sake aren't we tired of unimaginable mistakes

So, at the end of every business day, the value of the vault content is always known and not just on paper but online!

Your assertions cannot be faulted and I agree.

However, even with a weak vault, etc it will take at least 30-45 minutes to complete this operation.

How far away were police patrols, other police men in other banks nearby.

No police response They could possibly been there for an hour. Not too long there was a robbery on Admiralty way that went on for 45 minutes plus with over 500 armed police personal within 2 miles radius.

I ask again Where were the POLICE on holiday

That is the greater issue not speculative insider connivance without a shred of evidence.

Lol, we know people in Nigeria are corrupt but if you work in the bank you'd know it will be hard to pull such off even as a manager.

After banking hours everyday, before the vault is closed, all monies are being accounted for, if as a teller your money is short you would silently make up for it so all monies are accounted for and documented before the vault is sealed off. As long as that vault was robbed after banking hours the manager can only steal peanuts from the operation. Their are too many records and documentation available for the auditor to see for the manager to claim more than was stolen.

Insurance should take care of the loss provided the branch did not exceed the prescribed vault limit OR necessary approvals were obtained for increase in vault limit a day before the incident.

That is how they will just sit somewhere and be talking rubbish. The money the BM will inflate will come from where. are there not records of funds in that came in ad left the bank.
