There is a problem with your logic I might as well say Poverty will not end till people stop having babies since the poorest countries have the highest fertility rates. This is a FALLACY. Correlation does not imply CAUSATION. Certainly there is a relationship of some kind between corruption and poverty but it is not a linear or causal relationship. There are so many factors involved. China has recorded the greatest level of economic growth over the last 30 years and the quickest in human history.China is indeed a very corrupt country so why are millions being lifted out of poverty in China so quickly? Have they defeated corruption?
We all have opinions but we must be careful about thinking they are anything more than opinions without good analysis

I disagree with Dangote this once , I doubt if poverty is the reason behind kidnapping..if poverty was the reason at least most Nigerians would be kidnappers now ..Kidnapping is carried out by very few Nigerian and it's clear they are not even up to a thousand ,these people are are violent leeches driven by heavy greed ,they want to hammer ten of millions overnight without bidding their turn ..if poverty was the reason why do most Kidnappers who have already succefully made millions from past kidnaps and even own businesses go back to kidnap again?

Kidnapping was at its peak from 2008-2013 in most of Niger delta Edo and Delta, Rivers and some South East states at a time when recession has not been declared.

No o! They have just been correctly placed now! All along Nigerians gave been feeding off proceeds of corruption and living above their means especially during the 16yrs of PDP rule. Saying that you can kill corruption is as silly as claiming that you will end crime or eradicate all viruses.

You can mitigate against the human need to cut corners and take advantage of power but you will never end the practice.

You can make it more difficult and you can increase the consequences of such crimes.

Nigeria's problem isn't corruption as much as it is the attachment to ridiculous, irresponsible cultural habits - first of which is the obsession with procreation at all costs. The pressure that people put married couples under to have children makes so sense at all. Nigeria has millions of unemployed young people and huge infrastructure deficit and yet there are people in Nigeria pressuring their children, in-laws to start breeding with abandon.

It is this cultural norm that has lead to an increase in the number of desperate, corruptible individuals.
