So what is the truth about fat and carbohydrate? It's simple. The more carbohydrate you eat, the more weight you gain. Fat is not as disastrous to weight gain as carbohydrates. You can easily burn fat when you exercise but carbohydrate is a different ball game. Reduce carbohydrates like sugars and starches (white breads, pasta, rice etc.) and replaces them with protein and fat. So does this mean that you have to give up foods like rice, eba, pasta etc that are high in carbs? The answer is NO! What you need to do is reduce your intake of these carbs by at least 75% if you are #losingweight and 60% if you want to maintain your weight. What you could also do is replace the carbs with healthier alternatives. For example, instead of eating parboiled rice, eat ofada. If you want to 'swallow' explore options such as oatmeal balls. Replace white bread with wheat bread etc. Here is a rice recipe that makes your normal parboiled rice ideal for weight management. It also ends up making it tastier. First, rinse your rice and add to boiling water. Add coconut oil (a 3rd of the quantity of rice), boil rice until soft. Then put the rice in the refrigerator and refrigerate for 12 hours. Make your own Detox water. Combine slices of cucumber, lime, lemon, mint leaves, and water. Let it sit overnight and drink it in the morning. Get refreshed and detoxed at the same time.
