The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, who spoke on the Senate’s refusal to approve a $29.9 billion loan request by the executive for infrastructure development, said the executive arm would continue to engage the National Assembly to enable them see reason for the loanshmm didnt read this part. If this is about getting approval from the senate for the loan then this is another exercise in futility, cos it will end up like other speech from Lai Mohammed 8 Likes |

lawflec: How is it nice? Name one thing, just one thing that Nigerians have over the years successfully & efficiently managed? Just one. Bubu's nostalgia with Nigeria Airways is one i do not get, he should let it go!!!! The country need only enter into 50-50 agreement with solid biz folks, provide the infrastructures, ensure a positive operating atmosphere & watch the bird soar into the sky (pun fully intended) Bubu won't be there forever & what happens when he leaves & the vultures gather again? They start with freebies for wives, kids & concubines before proceeding to cleaning out the books.. Cc presidency .... (Tolu Ogunlesi & his team) Y'all need to speak with Bubu, this path ain't gonna do us much good in the long run, we don't need a "name" , we just want effective service & affordable flight ticket... EU airlines are asking for 600k+ for a flight to US & Arik @ 400k has no inflight entertainment and only does JFK.. Make una assist Arik first by buying up 50% of their equity, inject beta money to enhance the fleet , (tweak their useless mgt staff)...so dem go fit change dem yeye plane for intn'l routes, raise the standards in flight and just up their game mega, dazall... Leave national carrier alone bubu!!!! 36 Likes 1 Share |

Long Overdue!!! I have always said that the privatization of every sector will not be effective without the FG having its own active part. "Competition" is the key word here. When you only give room to private investors without a competing outfit from the government, then exploitation is inevitable. This is why NNPC must still remain with the government having the greatest stake. Now we have NNPC filling stations everywhere and I personally prefer buying from there. This is also why I kicked against outright sale of NITEL. Just because ignorant people have been ruling us does not mean we should put everything into the hands of private investors only. 2 Likes 1 Share |

As long as the management and operation would be concessioned and managed by the private sector, possibly foreign airline operators, then this is a beautiful decision. But anything short of that would be another monumental waste and disaster. The only government assets which function properly are those whose operations are totally outside the control/management of government (e.g. NLNG). 6 Likes 1 Share |
