NIGERIA; The Beauty In Diversity!! by Nobody: 2:58pm On Nov 03, 2016
We have seen threads showcasing the beauty of Eastern women, Nothern women, etc.
This one is however quite different as it includes some of the major ethnic groups in Nigeria.
I will be using pictures of brides as weddings are some of the most likely occassions to find people in their traditional regalia.
The list is incomplete but that's because i couldn't find pictures of some ethnic groups. If your group isn't included, kindly add pictures so we can all appreciate their beauty.

We are different and we have differing styles but the uniqueness of our cultures is what makes us beautiful.

because of the bead, abi

why do most Nigerians believe the edo/bini invented bead, just cos they use alot more than other tribes doesn't mean its their

Not the coral beads, but the way those people used it specifically.
The head gear and the shoulder shawl made from beads is a tangible cultural element of Bini/Edo copyright.

Copyright? Don't think so.

Copyright? Don't think so.

It is just an expression.
Of course, no crime in borrowing culture we find nice from neighboring people. But their origins always have to be acknowledged.
Only recently have I started to see Igbos dress in some of the ways they do these days.

it still doesn't prove anything, the igbos didn't copy it from the bini, the white men who brought it to bini also brought to Igboland

the Portuguese brought it to Edo and the Edosians spread it to other parts of the states.
