For these and other reasons, it is hoped that the US authorities find a way out of the debacle of a Trump victory, in order to save mankind from the abyss. After all, of what use is it ''preserving US democracy'', when there will be no one left on earth to enjoy it after the reign of a lunatic?

Better to see a Trump victory as a unique failure of the US democratic system. A glitch, requiring a reset.
