The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Mahmud Mohammed on Monday 7th of November swore in Justice Amina A Augie and Justice Ejembi Eko as members of the Supreme Court bench after their appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari was approved by the Nigerian Senate. This brings to 13 the number of Supreme Court justices in Nigeria. Of the previous 17, 3 retired whilst 2 have been suspended. The CJN himself is due to retire shortly after an illustrious career. The CJN stated that the two new Supreme Court Justices, Amina A. Augie and Ejembi Eko, joined the apex court “at a time when there are a lot of challenges.” He stressed that it was important to preserve the public’s confidence in the judiciary. He stated: "I therefore wish to state without fear of contradict that the Third Arm of Government will remain resolute in its commitment and resolve to uphold its independence and to adjudicate with utmost fairness and Justice as prescribed in our constitution and the law. Justice Augie is a widow of the late Senator Adamu Augie an illustrious son of Kebbi and has 5 children. There are as many court orders that are still hanging on the doors of Bubu. An example is the last one by ECOWAS. Shake the coward with these cases and if he still remains adamant, commit the tyrant to prison immediately after all, your office the Judiciary is an arm of government on its own. These are the next judges that will be used by the executive Of course the condition given to them would be that they dance to the executive tune anytime their music is played and if they don't They know what's coming to them |

SAME SEX MARRIAGE... This interesting prayer was given in Kansas, USA, at the opening session of their Senate. It seems prayer still upsets some people. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard: "Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says: "Woe to those who call evil good", but that is exactly what we have done. * We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. * We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism. * We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism. * We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle. * We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. * We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. * We have killed our unborn and called it choice. * We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. * We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem. * We have abused power and called it politics. * We have embezzled public funds and called it essential expenses. * We have insitutionalised bribery and called it sweets of office. * We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. *We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. * We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh GOD, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!" The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa and Korea. With the LORD'S help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and WHOLEHEARTEDLY become our desire so that we again can be called "ONE NATION UNDER GOD." Can we have just 1 lawmaker in our upper chamber who can emulate this brave Man? 3 Likes |
