Best Operating Systems For Hacking – Today’s post is focused on top rated operating systems used mainly by hackers, Take note that these are not basic OS like Windows but entirely different as they have great ethical hacking tools or penetration testing. And i will be starting with my most favorite which is the Kali Linux, not because it is popular but because it was developed by the same team of Backtrack(Offensive security). Although it is not included on my list and the reason is because it is not officially available on their website and the next version of Backtrack is the Kali Linux. The listed Operating systems written here are based on Linux kernel so they are all free operating systems. (Included download links for all OS) So don’t panic.

Kali Linux is a Debian-derived Linux distribution designed for digital forensics and penetration testing. It is maintained and funded by Offensive Security Ltd. Mati Aharoni and Devon Kearns of Offensive Security developed it by rewriting Backtrack. Kali Linux is the most versatile and advanced penetration testing distro. Kali updates its tools and it is available for many different platforms like VMware and ARM.
