What is being called the biggest political upset in American history and what was one of the most unorthodox U.S. presidential elections ever is now over.

President-elect Donald J. Trump will assume his duties as the 45th president of the United States on January 20, 2017.

Whether for or against Trump, this election has fundamentally changed the U.S. political landscape in virtually every way imaginable, which may also have a profound impact on families around the world.


Based on some of Mr. Trump’s stated goals, we are hopeful that we will see some much-needed reforms in the areas directly related to our work to protect marriage, life, family and religious freedom.

Nominate pro-life judges to the U.S. Supreme Court. Three or possibly even four justices might be named to the court by Trump, more than any president in modern American history. This alone will provide major protections for the family and family values for decades to come.

Sign into law the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would end painful late-term abortions nationwide.

Defund Planned Parenthood as long as this organization continues to perform abortions, and reallocate its funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive health care for women.

Make the Hyde Amendment permanent law to protect taxpayers from having to pay for abortions.

Give serious consideration to appointing a Presidential Commission to examine the harmful public health impact of Internet pornography.

Protect religious freedom. Trump has pledged to sign the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA), a bill that will protect religious Americans who believe that marriage is a union between one man and one woman from government discrimination. If just this one initiative is passed, it will be a major victory for freedom, faith and family.

Donald Trump has also said he supports man/woman marriage and will consider appointing judges that support traditional marriage.

If Mr. Trump makes good on any of these promises and takes the advice of the many pro-life/pro-family leaders with whom he is surrounding himself, the United States will be fundamentally changed for the better.
