Community Development: Fayose present cheques to communities

Governor Ayodele Fayose on Friday presented cheques worth N50m through Ekiti State Community and Social Development Agency (ESCSDA) to representatives of 6 Ekiti Communities for various self help projects already embarked upon in the selected communities.

Amongst communities to benefit in this first batch of ESCSDA fund are Ilamoji Community, Ado-Ekiti, Odo Ikoro Community, Ikoro Ekiti, Ikoyi Community, Ikere Ekiti, Afao Community, Afao Ekiti, Ilupeju Community, Ado-Ekiti and Igbede Kota Community, Ikota Ekiti.

According to the ESCSDA general manager, Mr. Bamisaye, 30 other communities scattered around the 16 local government areas of the state will benefit from second batch of the funding before the end of first quarter of 2017.

Governor Fayose who admonished the benefitting communities to ensure quality work is done said he will continue to do his best at moving the state forward.

While i choose to stay neutral to Fayose and his government over his policies and utterances, i wish to state that the title of this thread should read 'Ekiti state government splashes ₦50m on communities'-EOD.This i reason because the said million Naira is not from Fayose's pocket, it is from the state coffers. When do we Nigerians stop thanking government for what is rightfully and constitutionally right for government to do?We can write out our appreciation but must not forget the wealth of a state is the legitimate ownership of the people being governned.
Thanks for taking the correction, op.

I will advice you visit Ekiti state and forget reading too many sahara reporter's new. As soon as you leave the shores of osun state, you start seeing is legacies everywhere. Is first term brought ekiti state into the spotlight.

They no get camera man to take pictures of his activities, why does anybody need to visit. A man who takes pictures of sharing Ponmo and Cups of Rice will definitely call CNN if he does any little development, even gutter - So what legacy is everywhere... Ponmo stands?

Pardon me for this, but it's a must to say....the way some goats comment here on NL is so alarming, they can't for once think straight while commenting. Even if someone in their household is progressing they won't still see any good in that.

I discovered that most nairalanders don't bother reading the write up. They just look at the heading, read the first two or three comments and comment in their direction...cluelessly.

Fayose is one of the best performing Governors, take it or leave it. He is down to Earth and loves his people at the community level.

How many governors give contracts to home grown local craftmen? or even visit the interiors of their state like this man?

Keep empowering your people jorr

This corrupt governor is a clueless id*iot. He's publicly bribing people in disguise as "Community Development".

Every state government is meant to give money to communities for infrastructure development this is done every month without fanfare.

This clown who has not even paid his workers is busy campaigning for his 2nd term with photo opportunities of imaginary work he is doing.

There is no guarantee that these communities will ever smell the meagre N8m, but Fayose has had his photo opps and fanfare and probably given the community leaders some small cash to keep quiet about the scam

Most comments here depicts ignorance.

Ekiti State Community and Social Development Agency (ESCSDA) is a World Bank project that take cares of grassroot development.

Under the programme,a community identifies a core priority infrastructural need within it and embark on self help approach by contributing an equity sum of d project, then apply for further assistance to the World Bank through the agency.

The governor was just there on ceremonial basis. it is World Bank and community project.

kindly read this part again ' presented cheques worth N50m through Ekiti State Community and Social Development Agency (ESCSDA) to representatives of 6 Ekiti Communities for various self help projects already embarked upon in the selected communities.'

I was once a secretary of a community who benefitted from such assistance during fayemi era.
