Chris Uba, A Liar – Soludo by Oboma1(m): 12:10pm On Nov 03, 2009
The Soludo Campaign Organization (SCO) yesterday fired back at controversial godfather of Anambra politics, Chief Chris Uba, saying that his claim that Prof Chukwuma Soludo offered him $10 million bribe to back his gubernatorial ambition was a blatant lie. In the same vein, a group known as Anambra Development Forum (ADF) advised Uba to respond to the invitation of the police as the prime suspect in the kidnapping of soludo’s father rather than engaging in diversionary tactics.

In separate statements, the groups described the allegations as ‘baseless and childish’ designed “to distract the attention of the public from the crime.”
Leo chiegboka, legal assistant, signed for the organization, while Barrister Augus Ezeokeke and Chukwuemeka Ezedirokipu signed on behalf of the ADF as president and secretary respectively.
While denying offering Uba any money or discussing issues of immunity with him, the campaign group pointed out that Uba does not have the capacity to understand such issues.

It said: “It was tragic that even without Prof. Soludo making any statement to the police or any member of the family directly accusing him of the crime, Uba was already raising the bar and incriminating himself.
“Is this not the case of a child who breaks the glass and even before the mother could ask about it, starts denying that he did not break the glass.” It reasoned.

It further accused Uba of restlessness and desperation, saying, “he is beginning to do what desperate people do.”
Continuing, the group observed that “everyday, if he is not sponsoring shameless people to allege that Prof. Soludo offered them bribes, he would be alleging that Soludo offered him money. We wonder why Soludo would be offering Chris Uba money. Is the offer of $10 million part of the ransom for the kidnap or what?

That he could line up adults to call press conferences and look into cameras and libelously alleged that Pro Soludo offered them N35 million bribe each, after he won the ticket of the party, says volumes about the inner workings of his mind.”
It reaffirmed the commitment of the ex-central bank governor to the challenges to rescue Anambra State, no matter the personal inconveniences.

On its part, the ADF regretted that Uba is obviously too deluded to recongnise that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who used to shield him from the long arms of the law is no longer in power; adding that he was underrating the intelligence of the Nigerian people.
It catalogued his many atrocities against the state and the people in the last 10 years, noting that it would be out of character and tradition if Chief Uba had all of a sudden turned a new leaf.
It, however, expressed happiness that “Nigerians have always treated every statement by Chief Uba with a pinch of salt.”
Concluding, the group said his public utterances about the kidnapping of Pa Soludo was only calculated to stoke anger and earn public ridicule.

The full statement from SCO reads:
1. It has come to the attention of the Soludo Campaign Organization that Chris Uba has, in recent days, been systematically and deliberately making wildly false, libelous and ludicrous accusations and at the same time sponsoring specific individuals to slander and smear the name of Prof. Soludo. We do not want to join issues with him yet. However, our legal team is compiling the various libelous statements as published in various media and will respond appropriately.

2. Chief Chris Uba has been named by the police as the prime suspect in the kidnap of Pa Simeon Soludo. Since then, he has refused/failed to respond to the invitation by the police. Instead, he has characteristically engaged in all manner of cheap media blackmail to divert attention from the criminal charge.

3. Everyday, he comes up with one childish allegation or another to distract the attention of the public from the crime. Even without Prof. Soludo making any statement to the police or any member of the family directly accusing Chris Uba of the crime, he alleged that Prof. Soludo may have kidnapped his own father. What a ridiculous and criminal thought! Is this not the case of a child who breaks the glass and even before the mother could ask about it, starts denying that he did not break the glass. Nigerians should count their teeth with their tongue! Knowing Chris Uba, we would not be surprised if one day he lines up people to testify that they are the kidnappers and fabricate all manner of fairy tales and allegations. We know what Chris Uba can do.

4. Anambra people and Nigerians still remember the kidnapping of a sitting governor, Dr. Chris Ngige, the self-confessed rigger of the 2003 elections; the kidnapping of Engr Godwin Osele, a sitting Local Government chairman in 2002; the burning of Anambra State Government properties in 2005; and the many acts of gangsterism and looting of Anambra State. Unfortunately, the law is yet to catch up with these people.

5. Chris Uba has become restless and desperate, and is beginning to do what desperate people do. Everyday, if he is not sponsoring shameless people to allege that Prof. Soludo offered them bribes, he would be alleging that Soludo offered him money. We wonder why Soludo would be offering Chris Uba money. Is the offer of $10 million part of the ransom for the kidnap or what? That he could line up adults to call press conferences and look into cameras and libelously alleged that Prof. Soludo offered them N35 million bribe each after he won the ticket of the party says volumes about the inner workings of his mind. Furthermore, he makes the childish allegation that Soludo wants immunity. Immunity from what? Soludo is neither the subject of any criminal investigation nor is he being prosecuted, and so what immunity is Chris Uba’s rambling about?
6. Prof. Soludo remains calm and prayerful while hoping for the speedy resolution of the kidnap saga and the safe return of his 78 year old dad. Prof. Soludo’s elder brother (Chief Emmanuel Soludo) has made formal statements to the police and has been responding to police and media inquiries.
7. Prof. Soludo is fully prepared for the challenges to rescue Anambra state, no matter the personal inconveniences. Soludo remains focused and resolute in his determination to take Anambra State to the promised land of a much higher pedestal as Africa’s Dubai – Taiwan . If the purpose of the mudslinging is to bring Soludo to their level, it will not work. Anambra State must sing a new song, and we thank the millions of Anambra people for their overwhelming support. The revolution for a new Anambra has just begun!

Where is Chris Uba getting the allegation from? Anyway, in Nigeria evrything is possible. Nigerian politics, the dirtiest game ever.

the drama continues but let the anambra people not loose their focus. pdp and her criminal gangs must not be given any chance in the state.
uba and soludo are birds of a feather and they can use any form of drama to get to their inordinate ambitions of taking over the state.

i am not surprised with anything coming from chris uba who we all know is low class animal but my surprices are coming in the front of soludo joining issues with him.
the unfortunate proffessor shld be thinking of areas of commong interests that bring two of them together.
very soon, i mean sooner than we expect, we will see soludo in one of our parks joining issues with motor park workers.
if soludo is calling chris uba a liar, he is not making any mistake but he shld also know that they are of the same school of thought and they are in the same band wagon. he is the ASSOCIATION OF PROFFESSIONAL LIARS OF NIGERIA. in fact, telling us how he will turn anambra into dubai overnight makes him the millenium liar.
soludo+chris uba+pdp=liars.
