Former Vice Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) South West, Chief Olabode George, who is currently serving his jail term at the Kirikiri Maximum Prisons, Apapa, Lagos, has been given his prison uniform.

Sources told our reporter this morning that George  reluctantly wore the uniform with a blue cap to match and a pair of slippers, adding that the prison authorities have disallowed him from wearing his personal attires which his wife, Roli, brought to the prison.

The Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Prison Command, Ope Fatimikun confirmed to P.M.News that George will not  enjoy any sp\ecial treatment because of his status.

Fatimikun said: “I have over 4,000 inmates in Lagos command.  All prisoners are treated equally. There is no preferential treatment.

“The man you are talking about, Bode George, will be treated according to the United Nations standard minimum rule just as any other inmates.  All the inmates are treated equally according to the law cap 366 Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1990.

“As I’m talking to him now, psychologists, sociologists and criminologists and other experts are already working on Bode George and other inmates as a corrective  measure.”

Fatimikun also denied reports in newspapers that politicians stormed the prison to hold meetings with Bode George on Sunday night. He said such a thing never happened.

“We have only one visiting day per week for convicted inmates and yesterday (Monday) was not a visiting day,” he explained.

Did the uniform have enough allowance for his fat stomach?

He should be treated just like any common convicted criminal in Nigeria ho ha!
when he's released he can pack his ugly face wherever he sees fit but when in kirikiri, you behave like a kirikirian grin

What's the big deal with agbada if he can eat home cooked meals and receive hundreds of visitors in his 5 star air-conditioned chalet?

This issue should not even come up for discussion. I mean, its a normal procedure for all convicted criminals to be
assigned prison uniform as soon as they step into the confine of such places.
Afterall, so many Nigerians are awaiting trials for doing nothing.

Even OBJ wore the uniform during Abacha's era.
