Unfortunately the perpetrators don't know how many families from Niger delta earn their living from that export line "bunch of self centered people"

Shattap afonja. Most of the oil workers are yorubas. 9 of them yoruba got laid off last week. And heading back to SW. Your time is up...Niger Delta people are taking back what's theirs.

Whatever happens in this shithole country doesn't bother me nor does it move my economy. I don't give a damn about what becomes of Buhari or any political office holder. Go back to my first comment. I careless about Buhari,GEJ,OBJ or anyone.
I only spoke my mind of what I feel about the masses. But to a shallow and hate filled minded human like you,you believe am a sympathizer to what the NDA actions have on Nigeria.

I won't respond to u again except you talk about dollar rate. Shalom

They say they want derivation, eventually they get 13%. Plenty of money for the state goverbment and nothing to show for it. They say they want roads, schools, they get NDDC. Plenty of contracts awarded and nothing to show for it. They say they want a special ministry for them alone. They get Ministry of Niger delta, plenty of contracts awarded, nothing to show. They want amnesty. They get schlorships to travel the world. Plenty of money released, nothing to show. Their state governments just loot their states and give the change to the criminals amongst them to fight for.
These people are vagabonds, criminals by blood.nonentities. If there ever was any justification for ethnic cleansing, it would be the cleansing of Ijaws from Nigeria. Yes Ijaws! The other tribes are peaceful. Ijaws are demons that need to be exorcised from this country.
we didn't want 13 percent...we wanted and still want resource control..

I schooled in Warri and I know the South south region well.

I know about the acid rains.... how it itches the body, the oil stained rain puddles and itchy eyes from environmental degradation.

Only to find out some criminals further the degradation to fight the degradation is as daft as it will ever be.

I hope the residents of the communities are as happy as you are.

Those pipelines are old, the multinationals have not changed them in years then they blame militants so that they will not pay compensation.

Not gonna happen. At best you might be lucky enough to negotiate a hike to say maybe 17% but no more.

Fire wood is already the main source for cooking in the Niger Delta, the clueless pdp state governments over the years have added no value to the oil and gas sector only waiting for the federal government to give them hand outs from the federal governments investment. Which state built a refinery to add value to the sector instead they are building soccer stadiums that generate no income, clowns, they should have built a circus for themselves to feel at home ? Their blind and misconceptive views of President Buhari will give them high BP for nothings sake and send them to an early grave.

Things were all going well before gowon scattered the federalism system each region enjoyed..because of the oil in the delta your gowon squashed our right to control our resources..now this is the result..we would all live with it until we regain the status quo...

I guess we can expect all the above 35 years building scattered across the world to collapse since their bricks hasn't been changed in 35 years! Nonsense.

I guess the people swimming in crude oil in the community are swimming to go to work or swimming back home after a hard days work.

Until the Niger Delta people agree that all these act only destroy their land and affects the health of their own people, then they would start to reason well to find another way to address these demands. It is high time the various communities start to rise up against the degradation of their lands and waters by this kind of senseless acts.

It is not right to condemn what you don't know. Oil pipelines are not houses or bricks. They have design life and conditions. Most pipelines have a 30year design life and set operational conditions. If they are operated above or against their design parameters, be sure that they wont even last the design life. Most of these pipelines should have undergone sectional replacement.

The journalism/report is crap. Cause of the spill is yet to be ascertained but see the sensational caption...It smacks of a deliberate attempt to paint the region in bad light or the security forces/FG as non-performing. We dont need to cast aspersions or abuse any group or persons , until we know the cause of the spill.
It shouldn't be the usual blame game. We are all affected and in this together as Nigerians. One way or the other our livelihoods are derived from the oil industry or its proceeds. I am directly affected so, it may pain me more.

Let's say no to pipeline vandalism, economic sabotage, Niger Delta underdevelopment/Slavery and/or Operational/facility neglect.

I rep:
#TeamNotoPipelineVandalism
#TeamNoToEcnomicSabotage
#TeamNoToFacilityNeglect
