CONCERNED BUSINESSMAN TELLS IT ALL

August 10th 2009, Adewunmi Fashola would have had no idea that writing an article about the crisis and corruption in the power and energy sector in Nigeria would lead to series of attempted threat to his life.
Fashola. is an Agro allied farmer from the southwestern part of Nigeria. He left his home town, Nigeria, he leftlast month to Australia for a seminar only to be told by his lawyer that his home has been attacked and his life in danger by un known persons who brutalised his wife and in the process she lost her 8weeks pregnancy, she is said to be under intensive care now.We gathered from a reliable source that the attacked was lunched on the 27th of september as around 9:45pm
Investigations have however revealed that the attempt on his life is due to his write-up against some government officials.
Fashola had written about the serious energy problem in his country (Nigeria). Little did he know that his passion for writing was going to put him in trouble and his and that of his family at risk. He comments on the problems being mounted by the energy sector in which some Cabal were taking serious advantage of the situation by importing diesel(A.G.O) into the country and the importation of this product is highly lucrative causing the cabal to further sabotage the energy sector in my country.

The continuous sabotage of the energy sector as mentioned bought about a compulsory patronage of the importers viz-a-viz the product, diesel by every business establishment in the country to the extent that even the agricultural Industry had to patronize the imposters compulsorily. Most business organisations had to make use of generators to have electricity.
Fashola investigated the operations of this cabal and discovered that they are the ones responsible or the continuous sabotage of the energy sector. He then wrote an article on his investigations and published the same in a National News paper. This publication prompted the sponsored attempt on his life.
Investigations have it that government officials were benefiting from the sabotage by the cabal which was revealed in his write-ups. These government officials such as the Department of Petroleum Resources (D.P.R.) are being heavily gratified financially by the Cabal.
With corruption eating so deep into the Nigerian system, one can only hope and pray that an end be put into this man in human treatment to journalist and writers. we have had cases of slained journalists/ writers in nigeria ans its high time it stopped,
The life of the likes of late: Dele Giwa of Newswatch, bayo ohu of The Guardian Newspapers, this people were innocent and trutful writers whose aim was to bring the to the lime light, dirty dealings of some governmnet officials for the progress of the country but as fate will have it, the powers that be prefers them silent so that they can have their way.
Once again the question of security of life and property is brought to the fore by this ugly incidents. Why would anyone assassinate or want to hurt a journalist? Isn’t this an assault on freedom of speech? The governmnet should find an urgent solution to this else, the aim of journalism or writing will be defeated.

for one i sympathise with the poster, but then again your partin shot became something of some paradox! Why call on the same government to save you? They are the ones seekin your blood my friend. What you need to do is shout loud enough that they would be scared to try to silence you again, Like em gani, festus etc, Or just go stealth
