5 Core Reasons Why Nigeria Scholars Hardly Graduate With A First Class by vickysomtee: 10:15pm On Nov 27, 2016
Unlike the 20th century, when graduating with a first class upper was eaiser. Getting it now Isent also hard but because of the attitude of scholars towards pursuing it,makes it look harder.
These are just few and core reasons why Nigeria scholars find it difficult in acquiring a first class upper.
1.National influence : The present situation of Nigeria also has a high influence on getting a first class upper, with the economy value of Nigeria were unemployment is at its state, students see it as a waste struggling for a first class upper since a graduate with B.sc can end up working as a cleaner or a commercial driver while a non graduate can own a big firm or have higher position than a graduate even in the same company. This what most people call connect or long-legs and it has disstabilized the motive of young students.
2. lack of determination : many student's of these day aren't focus of acquiring a first class upper even from day 1. All they believe is they should Graduate with a good result, but less do they know that a first class upper holder has more chances that others whenever it comes to employment aspect.
3.early preparations : A popular addage says "The way you make your bed,the same you lie on it."
Acquiring a first class upper is not a day job,it is not just bagged with your final year result. Before one is bagged a first class upper, they ascertain your results starting from your jamb score to your post utme or screening score to your 100 level result till your final year result. So for those who take studies unserious for the first three years and decide to read all night the last year just to get a first class upper are into time wastage. To get this, one has to prepare for it starting from the final year in secondary school.
School challenges :Its not all about saying or making up your mind to graduate with a first class upper, its all about following that dream till you gradute. We have a lot of students who have made up there mind To Acquire this but there mind set are been changed once they gain the admission. Most of them do feel big and forget their dreams, some get distracted by clubbing at night even cultism.
This is one of the greatest challenge students do have and to overcome this all you need is much devotedness to your studies and prayers.
5. School Management :I need not put all blames on the student,if so I won't be fair. Most students try their best to gain these and merit it to the end,but with the current corruption of these days, many students are been failed down unnecessarily by lecturers because they had some earlier unsolved issues.
To crown it all,one has to work harder for this both in studies and in prayers
Note:A first class upper graduate has 100% chances of employment than any other graduate even in the same company.
