The Nigerian Medical Students’ Association (NiMSA) has elected a new president, Mr. Nwekpa Williams of the University Of Nigeria Teaching Hospital.

The election was held at its just concluded general assembly at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria.

Mr Williams beat two other candidates to clinch the presidency, including Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) and National Association of Residents Doctors (NARD) backed candidate in a transparent process observed by both bodies.

Meanwhile the other contestants are Winifred Erepade and Bright Onumajuru both of Niger Delta University. John Chukwu is a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe university who later stepped aside and didn't participate in the election at all.
