My great-uncle fought in the war. He was one of the first Nigerian soldiers, long before Babangida, OBJ and all those little rascals.

There should be a proper re-visit to these 'real' Africans.

Shame these men are not celebrated. You don't even get to hear their names. One would think Africans never helped defeat the f.uck.ing and bleeding nazis.

In fact, only two in 10 of the soldiers who fought in Burma were white.

The role of Indians and Gurkhas is known. But when Allied commander General William Slim thanked his 14th army at the end of the campaign, he did not even mention the Africans.

It is a shame,  nobody is demanding proper recognition for these people.

atleast their kids and grand-kids should benefit somehow for the sacrifices of their parents!
