whats your take on repairing an ac compressor shaft seal leak?
whats the chances of succes........u know of a good place?
my compressor shaft is leaking
it is 50-50 chance.most time it doesn't last for month and some times you might be lucky, but this days I don't advice people to repair shaft seals reason why is most of the seals are fake.
Make sure you also check you condenser filter(drier)because in most cases this days, blockage damages seals and if you condenser is full of mold on the body.
There is no proper heat exchange and your compressor will over work himself.

What could be the cause of AC blowing hot Air on idle while cooling when on motion...i recharged around 2nd week of January. The car is corolla 2005
your compressor has low pumping capacity but make sure they check for blockage before replacing.

do you do a leak finder using u.v dye

or using an electronic sniffer?

how many months(years) guarantee/warranty do you offer on your completed A/C projects ?

we have all.
We also do pressure leakage test on evaporator.
1 month warranty.

why 1 month?

what would cause failure (again) assuming no mechanical damage to compressor

I'm perplexed.

Possibly a leak on the compressor itself

My Car AC demands recharging every 5-6months. Don't know what actually the problem is? Its been worked on twice, no observed leakages and evaporator replaced yet the AC blows hot after 5-6months of cooling.

Car is 2007 Camry ,4cyl . observed it cools at will and sometimes just blow air , an ac tech said the compressor was automatic and observed a leak on an joint where an O ring should be.

His diagnosis and suggestions.
1. Buy a manual compressor
2. Change the condenser ( said the gas in system was dark or burnt )/ I just don't understand.
3. Flush the piping of the system.

All his demand are in range of 70k. In this recession ? told himI was coming grin
How was this finally sorted?

Your Ac specialist is a quack. A damage would be done. You would kip buying serpentine belt as a result of this and also there would be more stress on compressor. By the way what car is this?
please how do I know if my condenser is bad? Because all this quacks will just be telling you different things everyday.

Hi Gurus!
I drive a 2008 Toyota Camry. It was packed for a while( about a year) and got it back running recently. I however noticed the AC was not working and took it to the technician. By mere inspection he suspected a leak and said he will fix it and refill the gas. He did, the AC worked for 2 days and stopped working again- only blows hot air.
I go back and he gives me a list of parts to replace- Compressor, Condenser etc. I took it to the next technician that said it was Evaporator,Condenser and Compressor and suggested that I change to a manual compressor because getting an original auto compressor is expensive and may not work well with the condenser.
1. Please who can help me make a real diagnosis- I am based in Lagos mainland?
2. Should i change to Manual compressor, what are the risks?
3. Are there estimates for this so I am not ripped off?
Thanks

Hello House i noticed recently that cold air comes out from the two vents closest to the driver’s seat of my car. The other two on the passenger side isn’t cold it’s just the air from the fan.

You are most likely low on refrigerant. Trace for leakages and top up refrigerant to correct spec

With the help of your manifold guage hooked up to the low side and high side and AC running and engine ilding I need to know what values you get both for high side and on low side considering your environmental temperature. Tell your ac tech to make use of his guage here

1. My advise is that what ever is bad in your car, replace with the exact replacement part. When you change your compressor, you are buying into more problems, such as engine vibration, lack of cooling, loss of engine power while AC is on, engine stalling etc
2. Never change your condenser unless it has a leakage or more than 30% of the fins are bent
3. A flush may be a good idea, however, i dont think your AC technician is good at it.

Am sure the technician declared your compressor bad without pressure testing it.
You can NEVER successfully flush an AC condenser.

Just pray you don't have a problem with your AC, because it will never be the same again. Our technicians are not well grounded in the science and technology of car ACs. This assertion is based on personal, bitter experience.

There are several reasons that causes AC to fail when idle or driving in traffic. The number one thing to check is the condenser and cooling fans. Normally, the hot refrigerant that has cooled the car needs to cool down and compressed again by the compressor. If that refrigerant doesn't get cooled down by the condenser, the compressor will shut down until the refrigerant is cool again. Driving at high speed helps cool the refrigerant further because of increased airflow to the condenser which the cooling fans were not doing their job properly.

Secondly, if you either have the wrong type of compressor installed or the compressor pressure is low (bad) or low refrigerant can all cause low cooling at idle or low engine speed.

Ultimately, we can only give you ideas to give to your technician who is willing to listen to advise or to check for yourself or to use as a yardstick to test the performance of your technician. Since, the car is not online or your description to the problem may not be absolute, the specific problem can only be diagnosed accurately by physical examination. So dont go changing parts unless you or your technician is certain. The manifold pressure gauge is the best tool to know what exactly the problem is. You also need to know how to read the gauges.
Bro can we chat privately.I need a good car AC technician and I know u cud be of help
