MUST READ on Looted Funds: Judiciary on war-path with FG over accountability
The judiciary arm of government appears to have drawn a battle line with its executive counterpart over the latter’s failure to obey a subsisting order of a Federal high court which directed it to make public a comprehensive information on how much of the nation’s stolen wealth had been recovered by the Federal Government from May 29, 1999 when President Olusegun Obasanjo took over the mantle leadership till date and explain what happens to the loot.

The Federal Government had recovered billion of monies in both local and foreign currencies including immovable assets from some former public officers through its agencies including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation while the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation was believed to be taking records of the proceeds of crime so recovered.

No one as of today knows how much was recovered or what happens to the recovered loot.

In fact, on Saturday, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Chief Farida Waziri had told the world that there was no record of the loot recovered by her predecessor in office, Mr Nuhu Ribadu.

She had alleged that Ribadu ran EFCC during his tenure like a private estate, adding that it was when she came into the Office that she established a unit to take record of recovered loots.

Nuhu Ribadu was the pioneer chairman of EFCC which was the arrow head of the government agency recovering stolen loots from inception 1999 till 2007 when he was replaced.

Farida was actually reacting to an allegation by Nuhu Ribadu that Farida herself colluded with corrupt elements to whittle down recovery of stolen assets.

Nonsense, is it now that they want to know how much Obasanjo and co recovered, why didn't they asked them when they were in power?
Because This government have declared how much they've collect so far, they want to find excuse to cover their corrupt act.

The judiciary that has been shielding looters and which has also corrupted itself cannot give such orders to the executive. A thief cannot ask me how much I have in my bank account.

You all sound confused. Your complainin judiciary is doing job. Complain when they are currupt. What do you guys want. If the currupt house tears itself down what do we lose.
