THE PLACE OF THE JUDICIARY IN THE RESOLUTION OF CHIEFTAINCY MATTERS.
(A case study of oyo state ministry of justice).
The judiciary is a system of courts thats interpretes & applies the law in the state.The judiciary also provides a mechanism for the resolution of disputes among individuals,government & corporate bodies.Resolution of conflict is conceptualized as the method & process involved in facilitating the peaceful ending of social misunderstanding or disagreememt,however,the resolution of chieftaincy disputes/matters is the process of resolving disputes within a chieftaincy or traditional institution.
This paper accesses the role of the Oyo state judiciary in resolution of chieftaincy matters,hence,one cannot discuss this topic without exploring chieftaincy instituion.
CHIEFTAINCY INSTITUTION are traditional organs which administers the affairs of the local people,however the relevance of this ancient institution cannot be overemphasized,before the advent of the colonial masters,
