Barely 48 hours to the election, PDP has laid an allegation on the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of conspiracy alongside with security agencies to manipulate the original result sheets for counterfeit in the upcoming election on the 10th of September 2016.

Rivers State Chapter Chairman, Felix Obuah said the agreement took place at the homestead of an APC’s chieftains in Port Harcourt between the State leadership of the APC, INEC and some security agents.

He further added, that the plan was to hire some group of individuals that will raid the elections at the collation centres to enable security agents move in to halt the crisis and whilst they were resolving the issue, the INEC officials will switch the original result sheet for a counterfeit.

“Let me restate that we are ready for this election having campaigned adequately, demonstrated that we have all it takes to give our people quality leadership through Governor Nyesom Wike’s landmark achievements in one and half years which our good people of Rivers State have seen and acknowledged and are willing to reciprocate by filing out in their numbers on Saturday to confirm.

“We will not therefore take it kindly with any act, overtly or covertly aimed to ridicule Saturday’s exercise. May I also enjoin the INEC and the security agencies to caution their staff and personnel to allow peace reign in Rivers State by being fair and unbiased in this all important election,” He said

The chairman, has urged against any attempt to disrupt what he explained as the opportunity to settle the election issues they are having in Rivers state and advised that nobody should take sides or in indulge in any act of election malpractice.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Joshak Habilahas has given his word that no group will hijack or infiltrate the process of the election on Saturday.

Aniedi Ikoiwak, the Resident Commissioner of River State, also equally gave an assurance that they are set for the polls to ensure a free, fair and credible election.
