The price will fall with more local rice coming on stream. However, most foreign rice bear inferior quality and less nutritious compared to local rice. In fact there were reports of expired foreign rice repackaged for Nigerian market.

My person all this jingle of expired rice, inferior quality are just market gimmick giving a dog a bad name to hang it. For the past twenty years nothing do those rice na now we they hear story. Our local produce should be cheaper. When they are not paying for shipping, tarrif etc
