This sea turtle was identified as the ‘Olive Ridley Turtle’ definitely missed its way to the shore as it was immediately caught by people who made immediate plans to carry the turtle to a nearby fish market and sell it for consumption.


Accoding to report, a man who was present at the scene argued that the turtle should not be sold but returned to the water as he gave them N25, 000 for them to respect his wish. This idea was not easily bought by them until the turtle was transported to another beach ‘Sultan beach’ where another N5,000 was given for them to finally release the turtle into the water.
