A South African man who medics believed to have died in a motorcycle crash was found alive in the morgue when his shocked family came to identify his body.

Msizi Mkhize, 28, was walking home with a friend when he was hit by a vehicle in KwaMashu, a township in South Africa, not far from Durban.


He was pronounced dead at the scene and transferred to the Phoenix morgue.

There, he spent TWO DAYS in a fridge — despite still being alive.

When his family came to view the body, shocked staff discovered he still had a pulse.

Sadly, Mkhize, who was resuscitated by nurses, died five hours later.
