robosky02:It's a wonderful gesture by the governor, but thesame state government has refused to pay pharmacy interns at the State University teaching hospital seven months into our internship (May -June), the players of Rangers international did the state proud and were rewarded accordingly, we do not ask for any reward, just our salary as specified in the appointment letters issued to us by the cmd on behalf of the state government. what is even more annoying is the fact that the state do not owe its workers, some hospital staff got thier December salary as early as November, we are just caught up in the middle of a tussle between the governor and the cmd (the cmd employed interns without the governor's knowledge), but for Christ's sake it was an open advert, we did the interview and were recruited. it's pure evil to continue punishing us for what is not our doing. the year hasn't gone as expected, pls do not let us enter the New Year with sadness. |

This is the kind of unintelligent decisions am talking about among-st the leaders and many of the populace. I believe in rewarding achievers and God bless the rangers for achieving their goal. But why is the governor giving lands and money. Its one thing to appreciate achievements but it should also be done intelligently. You can do stadium honoring and promise them that you would refurbish the stadium to 1st/2nd class standard and that when you are done, they would be invited for the grand opening. If you give them pay then don't give them lands too because everyone is crying about how the economy is. It is cheaper to give close range stadium game access, for them and any 2 of their people for a 2 years free of charge and parking. It is not every time people achieve or are begging on the street that the government should give lands or built houses. Nigerian people are more populated than Nigeria's land; so its time to start building high rises and if we can't, its time to go all out on our power supply. Don't give out all the state lands based on current situation. If these people were serious, if they have hope in the future they would prepare for it. If you live in a one bedroom share kitchen flat, it is not smart to go and be having too much kids or buying many personal cars. One bedroom flats are for people/couple/couple with one kid trying to step up. So if they were preparing for the future, they would be planning for better uses of the land. Don't get me wrong, the footballers deserve their pay. Even though am not in support of government owning a majority of any team. Pay your civil workers first and after that create a better working and living conditions for your civil workers and populace respectively. |

Isn't this just amusing. The same governor that claimed there's no resources to pay pensioners and civil servants. Nigerians are really very docile people |

No money to pay pensioners who worked for good 35 years but 41.5 million eventually fell from heaven to donate to a football club plus land gift... misplaced priority |
