What do you think happens to the monies given to these preachers as firstfruits? If you some much as contemplate this thought, these may be signs you are abdicating all your faculties.

The preachers get the monies for upkeep
upkeep of the church
Helping the needy, the Widows, orphans and less privileged e.t.c

Its about letting you know that that money isnt yours
infact Your life is for Rent

no, its about extorting money from gullible sheeple in the name of God.
Its about using these monies to build a business empire in the name of a church.
Its about using these monies to satisfy their own lusts and cravings, to buy the finest jets and gold while pretending to be doing the work of God.

Where are the widows and orphans and less priviledged they claim to be helping? the same people who attend their churches every sunday, give their firstfruits only to return home hungry, empty and angry?

Mr Guy

i am a first hand witness to the programs that are used to help the needy

I also know they buy things and are given very expensive gifts

It dosnt stop them from doing good.

If you give your firstfruit to get something back
you are giving in vain!

So you will only keep losing money
thats just it

you know that is actually unbiblical . . . i had that same attitude until very recently when a guy here pointed it out to me supporting it with relevant scripture. When you give believe that u will recieve in return and God will reward your gifts of love.

What i mean is selfish expectations

We all know he who gives will receive. . . .

that is true . . . the problem is how many of these church "leaders" tell their congregations this?

I remember what

Bishop Oyedepo said during shiloh

That some people serve God on contract

'God im giving 10,000 i need 100000 in one week. . '

Where has the love for God and Humanity gone to??
Re: The Firstfruit Controversy by 4Him(m): 7:31pm On Feb 14, 2008
do u blame them? they are only doing what they have heard their pastors teach them.
A snake cannot grow to be a grasshopper.

If the people are well taught there would be no need to warn them about such heresies.

People must be warned any which way

Some people tend to forget things o.lol

Anyways thats why the Bible is given to us

And every man can access God directly

Jesus take the wheel ooooooooooo!

Aha! Here you are again, with your hypocrisy!

First, you said people who give aren't expected to recieve anything!

"If you give your firstfruit to get something back
you are giving in vain!"

You got countered, and you quickly retorted that what you meant was "selfish expectations"

Please break it down for me because as you know, i'm not very bright! grin

What exactly do you mean by selfish expectations?

Am i now supposed to sow, and expect YOU to reap what I have sown, with MY own sweat?

Please explain o! And do it quick!! cheesy

The money you have is never urs in the first place

You are reminded to give part away, so you dont get vain and conceited

Because that very thing which u hold on to, you will lose!

I said those who give to get back will be doing it in vain

God looks at the intent, motives behind the things you do

You are giving 10000 to get 10000000 not because you are grateful to/honoring God
You will just wound yourself

Hmmm . . . Nice explanation there!

So the point is, what you sow is exactly what you reap!

Being mindful of what you have @ the back of your mind!!

I'll let you off on this on, inspite of your initial blunder!!!

Takia & Nice weekend! kiss
