The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Yakubu Mahmoud has paid a visit to the inspector-general of police Ibrahim Idris.

Sahara Reporters hints that the visit was reportedly over the leaked audio tape of Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike.

Mahmoud visited the headquarters of the police in Abuja and was received specially by the IG.

Recall that a tape recently emerged in which Governor Wike allegedly threatened to kill INEC officials that did not do his bidding during the recent rerun elections in Rivers state.
