COLLAPSED CHURCH BUILDING: WHOSE FAULT?
Commander Andy, 08023248529, christianoutreachintl@yahoo.com

Since the collapse of Reigners Church building on the December 10, 2016, there have been many and diverse questions and comments made by people all over the world. There were some commentators went to the extent of judging and condemning God for being responsible for the disaster. Their argument is that He is an All-knowing God who knew in advance that the place would collapse and kill such number of people. But He failed to prevent it thereby being guilty of genocide. Others believe and maintain that it was an act of Satan who decided to wage war against Christ and His Church. However, all engineers and even some nonprofessionals would not accept any argument that borders on noumenon; they being phenomenologists or empiricists. They all agree that the collapse was only the outcome of structural defects. Yet others say it was the sins of those who were either killed or wounded that were responsible for the collapse.

I read a piece from Chief Ita Awak on the issue where he asked and answered many questions that compelled me to write this piece. It was a very brilliant piece, but the writer was very careful not to make a categorical statement of conclusion on the matter knowing that there could be factors beyond his knowledge that were responsible for the ugly incident. Before I come to the main thrust of this piece, let me quickly deal with the views above one after another.

It is true that God was directly responsible for the collapse of the building and the death of the two hundred and seventy souls, but He cannot be said to be guilty of the act. It cannot be argued that He did not know about it or approved of it in advance. Yes he knew about it from eternity past and approved of it for reasons I will explain later in this piece. What is not correct is to try to convict Him and perhaps send Him to prison for being so heartless.

I don’t know how many of us are fully aware of the fact that God is a Sovereign Lord who has absolute right to do whatever He likes to any created thing. Has He not said, “All souls are mine”? And in Deuteronomy 32: 39 He says “See now that I, even I, am He, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.”

There are many of such statements in the Bible, but I think this much is enough to establish the fact of the sovereignty of God since we are not in a Bible study class. But even if I should give it to them that it was God that killed all those souls, we have to go for the reason he had to do it to be able to understand His action. What is important now is for us to stop reviling God for the death of the people at that place for God owes no one an apology for it. That is what we mean by sovereignty.

Those who say that it was an act of Satan only got it half right and half wrong. We all remember the story of Job who was a righteous man in the sight of God. One day when Satan was going about his business God sighted him and said to him: “Old boy, where have you been all this while?” Satan replied that he was moving to and fro the earth seeking whom to pull down or kill. God then introduced the issue of Job. He boasted to Satan that there was no one as righteous as Job for he never did wickedly as others did. We all know what Satan replied God and what followed. This is to say that it was God who permitted Satan to try Job thus making Satan His messenger. Therefore, while we may say that it was Satan that caused the collapse of the structure, it was God who sent him, as His instrument, for the work.

The engineers and others who attribute it to structural default have only gotten it fifty percent. Yes, the structure was faulty, but we must know that for such a disaster to take place structural or empirical evidence alone does not suffice knowing fully well that nothing happened in this life that had not been programmed in the spirit realm for one reason or the other. We are told that Akan Weeks, like Pharoah, hardened his heart when he was told that the scaffold should not be removed and no one seems to consider why he had to harden his heart. Therefore, to rely only on the physical evidence in order to explain the disaster is to be grossly ignorant of the workings of what those in the occult circle call cosmic forces.

Those who attribute the disaster to the sins of the affected people, including the governor, are right in a way. Let us look at this scripture and after I will explain. Luke 13: 1-4. “There were present at that season some that told him (Jesus) of the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem> I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

One important thing stands out from this statement of the Lord which is relevant to this question. It is the fact that all those who died in the hand of Pilate and those who were crushed by the tower of Siloam were sinners, but not more sinful than the rest of the people. In the same way, we can say that those who died or got wounded and all the rest that went or intended to attend that so-called enthronement were sinners. They were guilty of one important sin. This sin was that of ignorance. This is because they all failed to examine all spirits and prove all things, as the Bible enjoins us. In other words, they all lacked the spirit of discernment which could have enabled them to know that the spirit that worked in that place was never that of Christ Jesus.

The Lord asked the Jews of His day to repent of the sin of ignorance or perish likewise, but they remained adamant. Then the Lord handed them over to Adolf Hitler of Germany who murdered over six million of them in what is today known as the Holocaust which took place in the 1930s and 1940s. It does not mean that those six million Jews that perished were worse sinners than those who survived. As a matter of fact, many of those who survived the Holocaust were even worse than those that perished. But that is God for you; and because of His Sovereignty no one has the right to take Him to the dock to answer stupid questions. Now, the clarion call is made to the effect that we should shine our eyes by properly investigating our Church and political leaders before committing ourselves to them. Above all we have to go back to Christ in spirit and in truth rather than in jamboree or ceremonies or we likewise perish.

In his treatise on the disaster, Ita Awak spoke about destiny as one of the factors that must have caused some to die in that mishap. However, he did not fully explain what destiny is all about. It is a pity that too many pastors are culpably ignorant of what destiny is all about and who shapes a person’s or group’s destiny. This makes it difficult for Christians, including those who worship with Destiny Chapel, to know what destiny means. Unfortunately, on account of space, I am not going to dwell on that now.

However, it is enough to say that there are two major divisions of destiny. We have individual destiny and we have collective destiny. Majority of humans who live daily routine lives have no individual destiny because they live like brute animals with no sense of proper direction, but only following people who may be blind leaders. And on account of this they are susceptible to collective disasters being gregarious.

Let me state here emphatically that there is nothing like reincarnation, as being taught in some mystery schools. There is predestination, but certainly not applicable to every human. Yes, there is incarnation only in the sense that whoever comes into this world for a special mission comes with a spirit (not his previous soul or that of another person) assigned to him. This spirit may be the spirit of a departed person depending on his mission on earth. We should understand that at death the spirit in man returns to God while his soul remains in the grave waiting for the day of resurrection and judgment. Please read Ecclesiastes 12: 5-7 for confirmation. This spirit that returned to God is what is assigned to a soul that comes to the world. Thus we see in the Bible John the Baptist coming in the spirit (not soul) of Elijah and Jesus Christ coming in the spirit (not soul) of Melchizedek and David. Take note that one person can have more than one spirit assigned to him depending on his mission on earth.

I must say without mincing words that the incident at Reigners Church occurred because the church had its foundation in evil. Like those children of Noah who decided to build the Tower of Babel which was utterly contemptible and which God had to destroy, Akan Weeks and company decided to build a temple to glorify himself and God had to destroy it. He killed those people to make it a spectacle to the whole world and as a signal to so-called men of God who are nothing but charlatans. Those who know the truth but refuse to speak it so that they will not be accused of passing judgment on others because they are told not to judge have not known that we are only forbidden to judge those who are outside the fold which we call Church. We have no business judging Muslims and Communists and Hindus, etc. but we are commanded to judge ourselves.

I have some serious things against Akan Weeks. But my first comment is about Elijah Mboho who was the anchor man in the whole thing. Why has Mboho not deemed it imperative for him to make a public statement on the incident when the so-called enthronement was done at his behest? That such tragic incident took place and he still went ahead and carried out the investiture in secret, as strongly alleged in spite of denials, is most wicked. I am told Akan Weeks was a disciple of bishop Idem Ikon of the Revival Valley fame who would have belonged to Ikon-led College of Bishops, but Elijah Mboho had to snatch him from Ikon seeing that Akan Weeks was very close to the Hill Top Mansion. That may have informed the reason for the attack Emah Issong who probably belongs in Ikon’s college launched on Weeks.

Now, I wish Akan weeks to tell the world when he was born again in the real sense of the word. I wish him to tell the world his “Damascus experience” as a child of God if he is truly one. Let him state honestly and sincerely where he belonged before he had the regeneration experience before we can say that the incident was not a ritual sacrifice.

It is unfortunate too that Akwa Ibom State Government is also enmeshed in this devilish thing. In the first place it is strongly alleged that a greater part of the church project was funded and supervised by the government of Udom Emmanuel. It is alleged that the governor took special interest in the project including the enthronement because it was arranged that after the investiture of Akan Weeks, he, as bishop would be the one to anoint him for 2019 governorship race in the same way Cletus Bassey anointed Godswill Akpabio at Asan Ibibio It is not necessary to delve into all this rubbish, but one thing I wish to say is that Akwa Ibom people do not deserve all the stupid things they have witnessed in the hands of religious charlatans and government officials.

Lastly, I wish to say that Governor Udom Emmanuel is bound under the Divine positive and Ecclesiastical laws to tell the whole world of the exact number of people that died in that incident. We know that the fear of liability is the reason for his refusal to admit the actual figure of the dead. But he should know that he is dealing with human life. The governor should know and understand that many of those who died in that incident died because he, as governor, was there.

I am quite sure that there are so many people who had no business being at that place if not that their governor was billed to be there. And so they went there, too, to see the reed shaken by the wind. But let it be known that God destroyed that place in the same way He destroyed the Tower of Babel and the Tower of Siloam because its foundation was evil. He means it to be a signal to all those who are serving themselves and Satan under the camouflage of His name and His Son Jesus Christ.

If it is true that Julius Berger, Uyo Capital City Development Authority and other concerned individuals in the town had warned against the continued construction of that evil structure yet the governor still went in there with hundreds of ignorant people with gregarious instinct, then he is liable. Therefore, he cannot trivialize or politicize the issue of the number of souls that perished in that avoidable disaster. He has to openly admit his guilt even if he has to resign his office unless he, like his predecessor, has no regard for human life and blood. He and Akan Weeks have to pay compensation to the affected families. Human life is too precious to be toyed with by anybody.
