The giving of tithe and who it rightfully belongs to has been a topic of discussion for several years but one verse some Pastors would avoid preaching about is Deuteronomy 14:28-29.


Deuteronomy 14:28-29.

28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns,
29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

The scriptural verse not only talks about where it should be kept but also how it should be spent.

So, from my understanding of that scriptural verse it is NOT mandatory that tithe should be given to the pastor or that tithe rightfully belongs to the pastor. Is there someone with a better interpretation to that verse?

If the money used in buying private jets are shared amongst the fatherless and widows to set up a business for them, poverty would have been defeated in the lives of those people. Sadly, In defence to them acquiring private jet they tell us they needed it to do the work of God...hello? what happened to satellite churches or video conferencing? You don't need a private jet to do God's work. If a pastor is so rich and the members are so poor then something is definitely wrong cuz God is not an author of confusion.
