What is wrong with you people in Nigeria? Scratch that...Impeach buhari or Buhari shld resign. What is the begging for? Like he owns your lives? Screw that. When i expect Nigerians to stand up against someone or something, that is when they act like pussies. See Korea. We don't help ourselves at all. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Nma27:Don't believe that crap they sold to Nigerians! What brought about the dollar hike is that Buhari's initial gara-gara to shutdown all avenues PDP members could use to transfer money out of Nigeria led to the hurding of $$ by some prominent Nigerians and also made it difficult for foreign investors to return their investment/profit back to their countries, hence they stopped bringing in more $$ into Nigerian economy and started buying $$$ in mass to return their money back to their country pending when they are sure that Nigerian government policies are right for them to invest. This rush in buying of dollar by foreign investors, foreigners, etc and the hurding of $$$ by prominent PDP members who were scared Buhari government would freeze their accounts led to $$ scarcity in Nigeria, hence the beginning of the $$$ hike. It's not just about crude oil price...they are lying. Buhari made serious, grievous mistakes during the first 4 months of his assuming office, his words, his witch-hunting against PDP politicians contributed to the dollar hike and free fall of Naira currency. Nigeria isn't the only import dependent country in the world neither is Nigeria the only country depending mostly on crude oil for her GDP. 8 Likes |

We are missing the point again, instead of Nigerians praying for God's intervention in 2015, we called on Buhari. We are still making same mistake again, our prayers should be directed to God & not man. 2 Likes |

Admin401:Everybody who knows about economy, FOREX policies and government regulations know about this. So many foreign investors packed up their investment in Nigeria and left as soon as Buhari became Nigeria's president. And remember, when these investors were leaving, they sold their naira to buy $$, and meanwhile, prominent PDP members had started withdrawing their naira too to buy $$ to move out of Nigeria, while some buried it in unknown places after Buhari started threatening fire and brimstone on PDP members and past leaders. This two incidents: mass exodus of foreign investors + mass hurding of $$$ by prominent PDP members drained the $$ in circulation in Nigeria, which led to scarcity of $$$, hence the Bureau De Change guys who were privilege to be getting $$$ from APC chieftains close to Buhari via Federal Govt waivers were now selling the $$$ they got from CBN at official price at ridiculous rate. And in economics, once demand is more than supply, price usually goes up, so as demand for $$$ continued without equal supply of $$, the exchange rate continued to shoot up at the speed of light and CBN refused to step in, instead top CBN staffs and APC politician close to Buhari used the opportunity to make billions by using government waiver to access $$$ from CBN at official rate and then going back to sell it at the black market at ridiculous rate. Buhari really pushed Nigeria into recession and mass unemployment with his 1800BC policies, it's really a pity, it will take long for Nigeria to come out of this mess even if crude oil sells for $100 in 2017. Nigerians should brace up, those who can't bear it should migrate to other countries in Europe, America, Australia, Asia and Middle East till things settle maybe in 6 or more years to come 4 Likes |

*clears throat*. Nairalanders, there's something we all MUST understand. It's the bitter truth we all must face. According to Bible prophecy, World conditions (Nigeria inclusive) will continue to advance from bad to worse. It's a sign of the nearness of the end of wicked human rulership where man has continually dominated man to his injury. Jehovah's word never fails. Now is the time to reflect on what we're doing with our lives so that we won't be destroyed along with Satan, his demons and these evil human governments. To learn more about what you MUST do to have God's favour, please, kindly visit the website www.jw.org. Or better still listen to Jehovah's Witnesses when next they call at your door. Feel free too to ask them questions perplexing you. |

gidjah:Nigeria being an import dependent country, any slight scarcity of $$ would lead to free fall of Naira. One of the right steps Buhari took when $$ began to go up against Naira was the move to start buying directly from China using Chinese Yuan currency, which would have helped the situation, but Buhari just turned around like he was being held with a gun not to go ahead with the policy, and I know it was Barrack Obama who indirectly installed Buhari that called Buhari to stop that policy that it's anti-America. We are in for it until God steps in with His abundant mercy 1 Like |
