No you cant use human drugs on dogs. Your dog should be wormed every 3-6 mths. Its all part of the course with dogs. But if you treat your dog every 3-6mths it will combat the problem.

i will have to disagree with you there xxcarolxx. human drugs works well for dogs. there was a time our dog was so sick and totally lost appetite, after spending he whole day at the vets and used all sorts of doggy prescription, the contidtion did not improve. it wasnt until until someone prescribed vitB complex. that he regained appetite.
i've given our dog 3 tablets of combatrin to deworm and it works fine.
doggy shots should be taken seriously though.

dominique, glad it worked out for you, but still wud not treat a dog with human drugs as we dont know de effect de actually have on dem. If i gave my dog 3 tablets for worms it wud floor her. As it is she only gets half a tab of dromtail as she only weighs 7lbs.

some drugs can and are used by both doctors for treating human patients and by vets to treat dogs, cats even horses. however dewormers are type specific for the type of worm. most worms that affect dogs dont effect humans and vice-versa
