ABAKALIKI—Ebonyi State government is to establish technology village in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area.

Governor David Umahi  announced this during Umunaga-Ikenegwu Union Day, held at his compound in Uburu.

Umahi, who thanked the people of the union for their strong support to his administration, said the technology village would provide Ebonyi youths, who are technically gifted, to hone their skills. It would give fillip to his administration’s desire to develop the state in all sectors through technology.

He added that with the technology village, the state would become one of the major hubs for inventive activities in the country.

The governor assured the people that the on-going reconstruction of the Amasiri-Okposi-Uburu road would be completed and asphalted this year while the construction of most of the internal roads in Uburu and adjoining communities would commence soon.

Umahi also announced that the construction of water project to serve the entire Uburu and beyond had already started.

He affirmed that his administration was poised to establish rice mill and other industries on the piece of land already acquired by the Ikenegwu union.

The governor     called on the people of Uburu to embark on large scale farming, which he said had become the policy thrust of his administration, adding that mechanized farming would be in vogue in the state.

Earlier,   the interim President of the Umunaga- Ikenegwu Union,Chief Mike Agwu Umahi, had explained that the     occasion was to thank God and celebrate their son, Governor Umahi, whom he said, God   used to enthrone

Good move, though I'll prefer Afikpo to Uburu.

Afikpo is older and well known, its at close and straight range to Abakaliki the state capital. And has more routes that connects Ebonyi to other states.

If the purpose is to attract patronage and boost the economy of the state, then Afikpo is a place to start.

The government should encourage rich people to invest in those technologies by

1) granting them 10years non taxation

2) The technological market should be rent free and powered by solar wind and biogas plants that has inverters that stores power whenever PHCN fails.

3) Create a website that shows each technology being demonstrated on YouTube.

4) Advertised the market seriously on radio TV and the internet

5) Make use of postal and transport companies to send each technology to any customer far away( eg Sokoto ) who wants it transported to him.

6) Payment for long distance customer should be made through Mobile banking into a State account before customers collect the products after satisfaction.

7) The state should deduct her 0.01% as encouragement fee, credit the investors accounts and credit the accounts of the technologists. This will prevent cheating of the business people by the technologists whenever they are not around.

cool For customers who wants to buy the technology in the market, must pay to state account officers stationed in the market so that the government can collect her 0.01% encouragement fees, credit the accounts of the investors and credit the accounts of the technologists.

How will the government make money

1) For every single technological product successfully sold, not more than 0.01% of the cost price will be collected by the state as encouragement fees.
