Yes it has. I now know there are 79 organs in the body not 78.
I know it's within the small or large intestine.
With more research we will know it's functions.

Imagine is all the great scientists had your mentality, we would still be in the stone age!

The mesentery has been an organ since antiquity...or u call it a set if tissues....dnt forget dat aggregate of tisssues of d same embryology gves u organ!...the word mesentery was got from combining two greek words...Meso...meaning middle or mid....and Enteros ..meaning Gut
so from embryology, mesentery is considered to be part of d middle gut....and moreso it is associated with midgut organs too...
For instance, d mesentery associated with appendix is called mesoappendix, associated with colon is mesocolon..
Since dz mesentery are also peritoneum, dey are important in controlling spread of infections especially in d stomach...
In d stomach dey form d lesser and greater omentum(policeman of d stomach)...
D science of mesentery isnt new,so d headline dat mesentery is a newly discovered organ is misleading and shud be corrected. It is a dent to d field of medical sciences....anatomy to be precise!
