A police officer who was caught on camera brutally punching a woman in the mouth during an arrest has resigned the day he was due to get sacked.

Arizona cop Jeff Bonar was seen striking Marissa Morris, 31, in November after she resisted arrest at her home.

The subsequent video went viral on social media and the officer was placed on immediate paid leave.

A disciplinary board recommended Bonar be fired from the department and he was called to Flagstaff Police Chief Kevin Treadway yesterday to receive his marching orders.

However before the meeting could take place Bonar submitted his resignation.

Flagstaff Police Chief Kevin Treadway said that the disgraced officer violated at least six Flagstaff police policies, including displaying excessive force and not having his body camera turned on, during the incident.

Yes, they must. On their chest, including dash camera and civilians also have the right to turn on their phone camera.

Explorers will be asking 'can it happen on Nigeria?' Dey can't fire a policeman in Nigeria because of common punch na. Army man flogged my sister on the road, when she was pregnant and nothing was done.

It was introduced recently after the spate of black killings in the US. Now every word and actions of the arresting officer an the suspect is recorded. No police man or "black victim" will lie about what transpired between them. The recording goes to the server immediately so no deleting.

So, once the camera is on, it is connected to the server already.?

No wonder they conducted an electronic voting with servers collating and analysing the votes immediately they were cast..
I AM STILL PATIENTLY WAITING FOR THE YEAR NIGERIA WILL START USING ELECTRONIC VOTING AND ONLINE REALTIME ELECTRONIC COLLATION..
AMERICA HAS STARTED IT, SO IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE.

Actually police bodycam has been existing for over a decade, but the shooting of Michael Brown and Eric Garner brought it out like you said.

Almost every technology in American law enforcement system has been developed years before now. They only just bring them out gradually and making us believe it's a brand new tech. My point is this, how come something is new in 2016 and we have seen it a movie in the 80s? I don't know if you guys feel. Me? It baffles me. Those people are just not the bomb but the Explosion.

Nigeria Ke? We missed our chance to develop when the Military that was supposed to force growth, development and tech advancement on us instead forced corruption and killing upon us. Now it's a borrowed styled democracy and every body get mouth, corrupt interest and impatience. An average Nigerian thinks daily survival bread and not tech innovations. Man. Can't change Naija.. God may have to personally do it. Put us all to sleep, delete our devilish memories and tendencies ( as in format our brains) wake us up again and have us start afresh. Our way far. The next generation in America is waiting to show their tech talent, Naija next generation. Is waiting to show their looting and corruption talent. Definitely the results for both societies will be different.

My brother, the bolded part said everything..
Everybody is just ready to do anything for quick small money at hand first..,,, even if he has to cheat..
And that's the origin of corruption..
If someone cheats at every small opportunity he has, and thinks it is little offence and thus can be overlooked,, if he sees a bigger opportunity to commit a bigger fraud,, he won't think twice before accepting to commit the fraud.
