Bros I seriously feel for you cos u are coming to a gangsters paradise. Just make sure u limit or don't even hang out at all especially GRA and Romola axis. Keep a low profile and lie low. Make sure u don't live ain't an ikwerre man's house it's receipt for disaster. And avoid buying anything Land especially if u are not from rivers they are crooks and will resell to u an encumbered Land. IN FACT BEWARE OF IKWERRE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9 Likes |

Goodnews? Rush hour traffic ain't that high when compared to Lagos. 140k a month? You could get Affordable houses in Diobu, D line, Ogbunabali, Trans Amadi. Stay away from GRA, WOJI, Eagle Island etc. On Cultists? Don't worry its not as bad as the media paints it. 2 Likes |

maxzzo1: Rivers State is worse than Borno State in terms of insecurity. You and I know this. Just last night here my friend's house was burnt down because of politics. See the pics. Rivers State, especially PH, is a no go area except you have the mind or you stay in a relatively calm area.

ThuGnificenX: Well, you have a point. If you don't look for them, they won't see you. Except, of course, you walk into their fracas zones, get hit by stray bullets, or become a victim of opportunity strikes. In any case, the chances of such happening is on a higher percentage in PH than in Lagos. 1 Like |

I stayed at emekuku dline before I travelled out of the country, even my family is still there ,avoid ogbunabali cos guys will likely intimidate you if your new there especially those ikwerre boys, you can a good accommodation around dline too, affordable and the place is cool ,police always patrols there, you can get a good accommodation around emekuku, back of oruminike girls school or even back of mile 1 market ,we have alot of streets there, your new in port harcout so I advise you get a place where your mind will be at rest than after a year you can than move in any where or any area and even house rent at this places are almost the same with what you will pay at ogbunabali and water lines or even garrison, think about your safety first my brother where nobody will forcefully take your phone with a gun pointed at you at night or early morning when going to work and as for cost of living between lagos and port harcout both life style ,lagos foods are affordable but ph foods are a bit more costly compare to lagos but ph is cool ,no much traffic and u wont suffer to enjoy your money but lagos is different ,best of luck 8 Likes |

I'm River born and Ikwerre precisely,I wouldn't say Portharcourt is Safer than Lagos or Lagos is safer than Port-hatcourt.I've stayed in both places but there are places in portharcourt that's a no go area.e.g Ahaoda,Obagi,Akabuka,Obogwu,Obite,Ede,Omoku..etc.its not as if its not habitable, it becomes hell for anyone that joins any of the cults either Greenlanders or Icelands. There in Lagos state we have cult groups like the aiye confraternity that terrorizes the neighborhood, my dear this cultism is everywhere.Port-harcourt city is Safe!Godbless Nyesom Wike and the good people of portharcourt 6 Likes

infohenry: All I know is this: Port Harcourt is insecure and highly volatile. Just because you have no experience doesn't mean people are not dying daily in Ikwerre, ObioAkpor, Oyigbo, Eleme, etc, LGAs. Na God de protect person. Im not saying Lagos is safe. Lagos is far from safe. However, insecurity is much higher in PH than Lagos. 3 Likes |

fratermathy:I came to Ph 2012 and till date... No issues with anyone. The chances of the disasters u mentioned are slim if u live away from where I mentioned above. The youths are lazy hence the reason why they use cult to disturb people but still, It happens but relatively on a low scale. If you enter a new place, you should observe before u relate.. . 4 Likes |

fratermathy: Do you really know port Harcourt or are you saying what you read in the news? Port Harcourt is safer than lagos, at least no omonile and robbery in traffic. Op get an estate agent look for houses around dline, ogunabali, elekhahia, even amadi and you will be saving some good money on transport. Only thing is pH is a little slower than lagos, if you let it get to you, you become lazy. Yes, and the girls too.... Stay focused. Cheers 11 Likes 1 Share |

ephi123: People were caught up in the fracas that weren't directly involved. My friend in question is not a politician. He was only living in a councilor's house when this occurred. Besides, I'm only giving my views concerning the place. It's left for the op to choose where to stay. |
Re: Living And Working In Lagos Vs. Living And Working In Port Harcourt by Afam4eva(m): 11:36am On Jan 06, 2017 |
fratermathy:Lagos seems less dangerous because there are so many people here and you may not notice a lot that is going on. For instance, someone gunned down somewhere in Alagbado may not make news to someone in Lekki or Ikeja. But because PH is not as big, it seems as if everywhere is a war zone. Lagos has it's own problems which PH does not have. 8 Likes |

fratermathy:Houses are not cheaper in Lagos either... I stay in a 2 bedroom flat with a colleague and we split the rent which amounts to 200k each.. . So if ur friend is still single, he can pair with a reasonable friend.. .. I said reasonable lol 4 Likes |

Afam4eva: Your logic is sound. However, I wouldn't take the risk. I've heard and seen so many stories and events to make me believe that PH is very insecure. It's not like any other place in Nigeria is safer but I would better my odds by staying in a location where I feel safe. |

Come and rent one of my flats at Rumuodara axis,200k for one bedroom flat and 300k for two bedroom flat(3 toilets). The building is new and it is in a well secured estate.
