Brief profile of Dr Chike Obidigbo, Osisioma Igbo.

Dr Obidigbo, PhD, JP, FISMN, is an apostle of economic renais­sance through industrialisation with interests traversing manufacturing, education, banking, commerce, philanthropy and politics. He shares his birthday date with some notable Anambrarians like Gov Obiano, Dr Chris Ngige and Hon Chidoka. They were both born on August 8.

Osisoma Igbo as he is popularly called went to Boys' High School Nnewi, from where he proceeded to Salford University College Manchester and obtained Higher National Diploma in Business Administration (Marketing) and Advanced Diploma in management Studies (DMS).

Dr Obidigbo moved to University of Lancaster, UK and obtained a Masters degree in Marketing Management. He equally took several courses in Finance, Administration, Management, Production and bagged a Doctorate degree from the Commonwealth University, Belize, while the Pacific Christian Uni­versity, California, USA awarded him a honorary Doctorate degree in recognition of his humanitarian services.

He did many research works and has published articles and books such as "economy and youth empowerment of the Igbo nation" (1988).

Dr Chike aobidigbo practiced journalism briefed and later became a lecturer at IMT, Enugu. And in his quest to create wealth and employment found and nurtured Hardis and Dromedas Ltd, a wholly indigenous manufacturing company with almost 1000 workforce.

Today Dr. Obidigbo is the External Associate, African Research in Business Group, London, Fellow Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria. He is equally chairman, MAN, Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi States and Member Na­tional Council of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria.

He is also Mem­ber, Council for Medium Scale Industries and Fellow Cer­tified Institute of Management of Nigeria as well as BOT chairman of the Institute. He is the immediate past Vice President, Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture.

He is also Chairman , UCB Microfinance Bank
Chairman, Fraser Diving International Ltd
Board Member, Akuchukwu Micro Finance Bank Ltd.

In 2013 he was a front line governorship aspirant of All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA and as Anambra state 2017 governorship election approaches, Dr Obidigbo has indicated interest to lead the state.
